gtrdave Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Hi, this is my first post on the forums. I've been collecting Hot Wheels (and others) since I was a kid, but it kicked into high gear in the '90s and I've amassed a small collection of mostly store-bought vehicles and a few Collectors Club items. One of the cars I have is a Hot Wheels Classics (series 2) from a number of years ago and inside the blister pack is clearly a 1965 Mustang, but the packaging is marked for a 1967 Pontiac GTO (#14 of 30). Does anyone know if these kinds of oddballs are worth anything compared to their properly-marked counterparts? The image is attached. 1 Quote
loaf Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 not much more...packaging errors are not what most error collectors are into. Most are into errors to the actual car Quote Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about
gtrdave Posted February 3, 2020 Author Posted February 3, 2020 Thanks. Yes, I've been reading the forums a bit and I'm noticing that there are some real oddball errors out there; mismatched wheels and more. I'll have to go through my collection to see if there's anything like that in there. This Mustang is part of a large set of Mustang cars I've assembled for my oldest daughter since she's a fan of the cars. Quote
GUYGUNSBAKERGMAIL.COM Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 I still grab every miscarded car I find, right along with just about every other error. I think I own fewer Miscarded than I do unspuns. Quote

BUT, I don't check the rivets on every car I touch...which might be the reason Quote Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about
