Grubaru Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 I never really intended for this to be one of my hobbies. Honestly, I was just a budding car geek with a base model civic under my feet. Yes, I dreamed of having a Type R someday; so why not get a little Hotwheels model of the type R? After all it looked pretty dang cool! Well I had white and then why not get a red one too. They have a black one? I'll get that too. Wait, is that a 2001 Integra GSR? I'll get that as well! And now, 7 months later, I've collected a good amount of cars. From ones I get out of the box to run along tracks to see how they go against each others to some that I leave in the box to sit on my shelf and look pretty. Overall, I definitely enjoy this hobby and am quite thankful to have found these forums. 4 Quote

MOJOCARR Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 The one that got me started was a Classics 67 Camaro in spectraflame blue. Found it in a hobby store. It reminded me of the Hot Wheels I had growing up. Then I found a split-window 63 Vette, same series. Then I wanted all 25 cars, then I wanted all the colors of each casting, then they started another series, and then another, lol. Just have fun, collect what you like and what you can afford. 1 Quote Sig designed by COOLBREEZE
DARKJEDILAIR Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 I started just collecting the '59 Cadillac back In 1994. Then picked up the new models and treasure hunts In 95 and 96. Then started buying all variations of them, then buying everything. Finally gave up, got rid of most of them and started over. Now I just buy what I like and open everything. Quote 1981 DATSUN 210
Technician68 Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 The Type R is one of the best mainline castings almost all of them completely detailed front to back hoping they will add details to the Integra and metal bases. Quote
SHUFFNCARS Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 welcome to the mayhem.....LOL I've been at this since 69..It started with a Custom Camaro...it just gets worse, as you realize just how many available cars are out there.....Mattel has been my favorite since the original redline days....just wish I'd kept everytihng since, instead of listening to my Mom when I was 15....LMAO Quote

(Apologies is this is not the correct way to reply, I am new to these forums) I feel much the same way! It was if after I had one Civic Type R I needed to have it in all the colors available! But then I wanted multiple Hondas! And well, it spiraled from there... Quote

Personally, I want them to do a casting of the 01 Integra Type R as I find that to by my favorite of the Integras. I hope that Mattel expands the Acura line up like they have with Honda; a tuned Legend or TL would be awesome! Quote
THIS GUY Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 My cousin gave me a split window 63, when I was about 4. 37 years later here we are. Be careful my friend. Quote
