PANEL55 Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 Wow! Wonder if the 50th replica will be as rare ? ? https://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/a30813292/hot-wheels-chevy-camaro-100-000-collectible-found/
RL-Collector Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 I loved this part of the article LoL .. Interesting though seeing how never heard of a HK version. Also, not sure why it would be made and assembled in HK and then sent to Cali to be painted. But the U.S. and Hong Kong versions were not the same, with the toys of this era produced in Hong Kong having a blue-painted windshield instead of a clear plastic one.
JSHOFSTAHL Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 If you are a member of the CFR redline site, there is a longer discussion about this car. Lots of things mentioned in the story that raised red flags. Like any rare item, it all depends on the provenance of the item - i.e. the paper trail as they would ask for on Pawn Stars. Greyhounds make great pets.
6T9BOSS9 Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 TTP Blog on this HERE raises the skepticism bar a little more vocally. Larry wood had some words on this but still no closure on certainty, nonetheless a great story for sure. NYT

Shame that non-members can't just go and read what's being said. No doubt something like this is up to extreme scrutiny
