When did Buns of Steel lose it's milkshake tailpipes?

I found a Buns of Steel basic TH the other day and noticed the milkshake tailpipes it had as a new model are no longer there, the straws are still there though. I hadn't been paying all that close of attention to the last couple versions out between the new model and present version, so I wasn't sure when it got retooled.

It got retooled last year.

Hah, didn't even notice. I bet the base was a PITA to do and that's why they did away with the pipes.

I would say the reason was to cut the cost.

Well, that's some speculation on the contents of the cups, but milkshakes are somehow paired with burgers and fries in fast food lore.

 

Not quite sure why, I could never drink that while eating a burger.  It was always a Coke to cut it and wash it down.  However, there are 2 cups so I could see a Coke and a shake being present.

 

 

It was one of the coolest features of that casting and sorry it's gone.  Glad I picked up a bunch extra for donors.  I thought there was some precedence for a casting to be changed in the mainline and then down the road that changed item comes back to its original form in later releases.  For example the opening body Mini Cooper.
