Ieak Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 Due to the very high amount of thefts in the Walmart stores across Canada. Team Transport was $17.97 new price $19.97. The Car Culture Series have also gone up $0.50. I have personally found at least 50 packages in 2019 pushed to the back of the shelves empty. Even the Team Transport. I don’t know what to say, maybe someone else can say something here. I usually buy a couple sets and will cut back on these awesome vehicles. The Team Transport sets were $60.00, now $67.00. Sickened by these dubious people. Quote
Ieak Posted February 16, 2020 Author Posted February 16, 2020 I could of bought two sets of the new Team Transport 16, 17, 18 Saturday morning at Walmart. There was one box put out. After a few minutes I decided to buy just one set. Even though these are getting better as time goes by. Quote
SHUFFNCARS Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 Stiil cheap leak....up here in Gibsons mainlines are $2-$3 bucks in a couple of stores.....Car Culture /premium are $6.49 at Independent and mainlines are$1.69...Pharmasave is the most expensive for anything diecast...$2.99 for a mainline Quote
THINICE Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 I don't know how raising prices on the cars will prevent theft--they're just gonna steal the cars anyway. This also seems to be more of an isolated incident. I haven't heard much of theft being that big where the store has the raise the price of stock to compensate for lack of sales. If the store is seeing that high of numbers of theft in Hot Wheels, they should take the time to actually find the perpetrator(s). Lego in my local Walmart have securities for higher priced sets, and they have made it explicitly known to have cameras facing the shelves to monitor shoppers. Quote
Ieak Posted February 17, 2020 Author Posted February 17, 2020 (edited) High end LEGO is behind glass now. I seen a woman try strolling out the store here with over $500.00 worth of goods. This is the first of many problem stores that will get this system. Edited February 17, 2020 by leak Quote
Ieak Posted February 17, 2020 Author Posted February 17, 2020 (edited) Toys R Us Canada online shows lots of the Team Transport sets at $17.99, but no stock and no store here. Edited February 17, 2020 by leak Quote
EPLURIBUSUNUM414 Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 Toys R Us in Ontario has the Team Transport $17.99. Picked up the Mazda set only. Quote
kicknchicken Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 I posted this on another thread earlier. A Family Dollar near me has been putting those metallic anti-theft stickers on $1 Hot Wheels and a Dollar General is putting the cars on a standup display behind the counter, because theft has gotten so bad. MIKETOY Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 You guys have some serious theft. I’ve never seen anything like that where I live. But I do agree what is raising the price on team transports gonna solve, when all there doing is stealing them. Quote
Technician68 Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 Wonder if its kids or adults as the majority of the problem. Most of the Hot Wheels isles have a camera facing all of the diecast. I’ve found blisterpack remnants many times including Premiums and CC. But more often mainlines. Quote
