Ltlgto Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 (edited) All the cars below I’ve had over the years. Some were projects that never went anywhere or ended up being traded later for a different car. The two trucks I have right now. In order of the pictures they are: 1. 31’ Model A highboy coupe w/4” chop. Had a bad frame and no title. Ended up selling the car and motor separately. 2. 38’ Chevy Coupe. Very clean body. Mustang Ii front end. Never got put together. Probably my favorite. Still have the tires and wheels and they’re being used for my man caves coffee table. This is the one car I’d like to see turned into a Hot Wheel. 3. 69’ Roadrunner. 4 spd.,383, bucket seats. Mostly original except paint Was a red spring edition w/black vinyl top. Got in trade from the owner of the blue Belvedere I sedan. Long story! 4. Original 60’ Austin Mini. RHD. Was a 70 year old lady’s rally car. Actually won on eBay. The most fun car I ever had to drive. 5. 69’ GTO, all original but paint. Called it the “Nuclear Banana “. Bought it in S Cali. while stationed there. Had for about 8-9 years. Loved this car! Another favorite! 6. 62’ Chevy longbed. One of my current drivers. Original except paint. One family owners. Putting this up for sale to fund my 60’ Chevy stepside. 7. 63’ Chevy Nova drag car. Bought it for my son and I with a blown motor. Ended up using the block out of the 31’ coupe. Got it running but never got to race it. Ended up selling without ever having driven it. Next pic is the nitrous motor of the 63’ drag Nova. 8. 65’ Belvedere II hardtop. Got this from the same lady I eventually got the road runner from. This was literally a barn find along w/the blue Belvedere sedan. Sold before I got it running. 9. 60’ Chevy stepside. My current project. Came with a 350 and Muncie car 4 spd. Have fired up the motor off a gas can. Can’t wait to get this driving but needs a lot. 10. 65’ Belvedere I sedan. Bought one year after buying the gold Belvedere hardtop from the same lady. She needed it back (family issues) only a few days after purchase but had already spent the money I gave her. I ended up trading it back for the Roadrunner. I was really torn about giving it back. They are very hard to come by. 11. 56’ Chevy post. Didn’t get anywhere with this but kept a killer 327 and Muncie 4 spd. that came with it. 12. 93’ ? Dodge Stealth TT, twin turbo. I learned how fast a twin turbo car was!!! Sold after getting hit in the passenger side. Being all wheel drive and steering, the insurance didn’t want to pay to fix. They totaled it and gave me $4k more than I was trying to sell it for, bought it back for $1k and sold again for $5k. 13. 71’ Austin Mini Clubman. Another RHD drive but automatic. Another fun, fun car. 14. 65’ Lemans. 326, auto, bucket seats. All original. My car from high school. Shown here after I had gotten hit in the driver front fender. Loved this car! Forgot the picture of my orange 41’ Chevy 2 door sedan. Very beet hotrod but to big and bulky for my likes. I’ll add a picture later if I can find one. I’ve probably had 15+ other cars but nothing too cool ? 70’ Lemans Sport, MR2, MG Midget, Z28 Camaro and others.... Sorry, that was a long post but wanted to tell “my” car story! SOMEGAMER1 Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 That's a pretty broad spectrum of cars- what inspired you to switch em around so often at the time? Have you settled down in that sense with time, or are you still yearning for variety? 1 Quote
Ltlgto Posted February 27, 2020 Author Posted February 27, 2020 I’ve always liked all kinds of cars. My son got me into the Stealth when he got a 3000GT VR4 twin turbo. After driving it I had to try one so I gots it’s Dodge twin. He also got me into the Mini’s when we he wanted one for a project. i grew up a Pontiac fan as my dad had from new a 65’ GTO, a 67’ Firebird HO, a 69’ Lemans Custom S and a 72’ Lemans GT. The Plymouth’s I became interested in a little later and all three came from the same owner. I loved the Roadrunner. It reminded me of my GTO as far as a quick fun muscle car. I’ve also owned a 66’ Chevelle with a Vette 327 and Muncie 4spd that was a blast to drive. A fast winding motor. The 63’ Nova drag car we bought as a project. Him and the mechanic at his body shop got it going but it wasn’t street legal so never got to drive it. The 56’ I bought because I couldn’t find an affordable 55’ which is one of my favorite all time cars. I also love 30’s cars and bought the 31’ hi-boy as a project that ended up a basket case and bought the 38’ from my son after I helped him get it as a project. He lost interest so I bought it from him. One of my favorite body styles too. I would love to find a Model A 2 door sedan but they’re out of my price range right now. I had a 41’ 2door sedan that was a pretty cool car but it was too big and boxy for me. I’ve only recently developed an interest in trucks. The 62’ longbed is my current driver, but after buying it I found the 60’. Because I prefer the stepside and the dual headlights of the 60’ I’m selling my 62’ to finance my 60’. Short story... I love a lot of different cars. But I relied on my son to help fix them (I’m not a mechanic) and he relied on my money to help him buy his cars. I did my part, him not so much. 2 Quote

Ltlgto Posted February 27, 2020 Author Posted February 27, 2020 Thanks Coolbreeze and Bunyip. I had quite a few others over the years also. I bought the 2 trucks and a new Hyundai as my daily and still have my HHR to get rid of since my divorce 4 years ago. Last year I found the RLC and have been bitten by the Hot Wheel bug. Redlines and RLC’s. 1 Quote
Ltlgto Posted May 8, 2020 Author Posted May 8, 2020 A couple I’ve had that I forgot to list that were kinda cool: A 70 Opel GT that I bought in 79’. A few months after buying I was broadsided in the passenger door by a Chrysler Córdoba. The Opel didn’t have seatbelts so my head ended up going through the passenger window. It knocked me about 100’ into a Les Schwab/Fred Meyers parking lot. I actually got out of the car and walked around until I laid down on the hood. I didn’t know it had severed my jugular vein and the nerve to my shoulder. I was awake until the operating room. About 200 stitches and 2 days later they sent me home to heal. I was lucky I made it to the age of 20 after that one. I also had a 71’ Buick Skylark GS. I bought it when it was covered with Mt St Helens ash. Ended up trading it for a 66’ Chevrolet SS. My first car? A 61’ VW Baja that I bought from my brother in 76’ for $700. He’d had it painted and the interior completely carpeted by a friend for a case or 2 of beer. It had a starter problem so occasionally I’d have to get under it and arc the terminals with a screwdriver to get it running. It was a blast! Me, my cousin and my neighbor all had Baja’s and we’d hit the logging roads almost every weekend! Probably others that I have forgotten about! Quote
