MMEYER Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 So I'm coming back from town today all sad because for the first time my Lucky Pirate hat fail'd to score anything, zero not even a peg warmer ...... But as I'm backing "Flash" (my Pick-em-up) into the garage the Letter carrier pulls up and hops out and says "Do you know a 1.EYED.JACK?" with a rather large package under her arm. Well I knew I was in for it. for starters I was knocked over just by the stamps, I semi collect stamps once in a while, and the rest is history .... Those white cheddar cheese puffed "S" were pretty tasty Stack of Hot Wheels Stickers Wish Mattel would make more of this casting All Small wheels Willys (You can never go wrong with a Willys) All Small Wheels Willys Nice Grabber Maverick with a "NO" motor Willys "NO" motor Willys you can never have enough Fire Trucks Never Ever Love a pink Caddy Your welcome to plunder any time Thanks Jack you saved me from having to get a new "Lucky Pirate Hat" I can now say I know what people mean when they say.... "I Was Floored" Gonna spend the rest of the night just looking at the haul, mite even stay up all night 1 Quote Thanks to COOLBREEZE for the AWESOME SIG !

1.EYED.JACK Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 heeeeeeey Mike, a couple things..... 1) Glad to be able to do to you what you did to me. (boy that's sounds kinds creepy, don't it) 2) Glad the stamps were nicely cancelled by the PO ( I wish I had a full sheet to use (but then it may not have fit the box (it's missing one row of 4 cars) 3) Glad to keep the Lucky Pirate hat streak alive. ? 4) I also collect the 41 Willys (both the coupe and the pro mod) but when I saw that you collect the Willys and I found these living in a box (verses the collection which lives in a jammer) - they told me they had never been to Oklahoma before, so I figured "road trip". you deserve it my friend. 4 1 Quote
1.EYED.JACK Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 If I recall correctly, I think that black Willys was part of a Walmart 10 car exclusive redline tire series, so the back tire is double wrong. 2 Quote
MMEYER Posted February 26, 2020 Author Posted February 26, 2020 Yes I've been a Willys fan forever, the 33-41 style have long been on my list of never pass up's. the mid 30's "Bug eyed" style kind'a grew on me, but I've not found one of that style yet .... I guess I should look and see if anyone makes one, but I'm getting lazy. Yep the black '41 redline was from the Megalowmart I mean Walmart, in my stash if I can remember back that far seem there are a couple '41 Pro Mods that had Walmart white letter tires on them. I have them boxed up for ever never top be seen again, well but for the 1's in my display. Thank you again Jack for the goodies .... P.S. my blood sugar reading was high this morning because at 2am I ate a couple cookies while I was arranging the haul to see how the looked in different arrangements ...... 1.EYED.JACK Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 (edited) Hope the blood sugar is back to normal Mike. The pro mod deal was Goodyears on the yellow one and BF Goodrich on the gray Willys, but I think the gray one without the BF Goodrich skins was the harder one to find. My pro Mods live in a jammer and I visit them often. I think I have two or three without tampos that still live in a box and the best one I have is a Dream Halloween edition. I think Johnny Lightning makes the 33 (bug eyed) Willys in several versions. Edited February 26, 2020 by 1.EYED.JACK 1 Quote

From yellow to orange to red to brown took 13 dips in dye. I flipped a coin to see if I'd use a black wheel or a BGF one. 1 Quote Thanks to COOLBREEZE for the AWESOME SIG !
1.EYED.JACK Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 (edited) WOW, I'm not sure I ever saw a 37 Willys, That's definitely bug eyed. The 33 has some raised bumps for the headlights but nothing like that and closer together.. That's actually kinda homely lookin. Diggin at Hot Wheel dye job. that's awesome! How long did that take to do? Edited February 26, 2020 by 1.EYED.JACK 1 Quote
