20JK10 Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 With New York Toy Fair 2020 coming to a close, news is leaking out from Mattel. It appears the iD line has been selling better then expected. I remember when people first heard of the $7 price point for the iD cars, a lot of people balked at it. They were saying "I will never pay $7 for a car without real riders" and "it's just a gussied up mainline with a chip" etc. Mattel released 51 cars for 2019 and looks to release over 100 for 2020. And it seems they will be lowering the price to around $5. The track set is also being reduced in price and more track sets are planned for release. I know from my own observations at my local Target, the store went through at least 10-12 trays worth of cars in the run up to Christmas. Since then, they have gone through 2-3 more trays worth of cars. I currently have five cars in my collection and I don't even have the track set or app. I look forward to see what new releases are coming for 2020. https://orangetrackdiecast.com/2020/02/24/hot-wheels-news-from-the-2020-new-york-toy-fair/ 2 Quote
SAMACE26 Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 That is great news that they're bringing the price down to 5.00 each for the hotwheels ID cars. ?I love the hotwheels ID cars. ?I can't wait until the stores start getting new ones in again. ? 2 Quote
DOOMUS Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 Locally the Targets haven't been moving much of the leftovers from the trays. They had the sale that they were $4 a piece and I know I snapped up a bunch but all that is mostly left are the HW original castings. However based on some of what I've seen of what's coming I'm excited!! And i don't bother with the tracks haha 1 Quote Hey, signatures are back! Thomasonry Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 Hello totally new here so I’ve noticed on eBay people are selling treasure hunt I’d cars is this legit? If so how can I identify easily thanks for any info much appreciated Quote
HWClams Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 Not sure about elsewhere. Each target near me has peg warmers (3 full trays of id cars not moving) Quote
GHOSTWORXX Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 I am glad to hear they are a success. I sure like them. Can hardly wait to see what 2020 has in store for the line. 1 Quote
Tasmanian Devil Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 I like these cars a lot, and I will definitely be getting more of them. I'm most looking forward to getting the McLaren Senna from the 2020 lineup Quote sELECTIONs addict ... if you don't vote, don't complain about the result

If so how can I identify easily thanks for any info much appreciated They aren't treasure hunts, but they are considered to be chase id cars. They come in the 72-count HWs cases, or any other size cases that may exist (shippers, tray cases). They come in certain case codes: A, C, .... I think 8 slated for 2020 cases. My best example was the A case bins at WM; there was 1 or 2 in most cases. You can tell them first first by the distinct card, then by the casting and paint. They won't hang around the pegs; you'll have to hit the pegs or bins when the cars are pretty fresh! 94Blazer Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 There have been a decent selection of pegwarmers, but I think that's to be expected. Some models are just going to sell better than others. I got a couple of the pegwarmers just to have, and I've been happy with them. I'm glad they are selling. Quote
