Missed Opportunity’s

So, yesterday was the RLC sale for membership and I missed it due to being at work. I am currently on the East coast which puts the 9AM opening at noon my time. I unfortunately work in a job where I don not have the luxury of being behind a computer all day. I was unable to renew or purchase the new membership for this reason. By the time I got home last night and got to my computer the web site stated that it was sold out. I have been looking at the boards this morning and it seems that other people had issues as well. What I'm wondering is why Mattel does not do a renewal membership to the folk's already in the club  and then open it up for new members. If you have people already in the club buying the product why risk loosing them. I have been in the club now a couple of times because of this exact reason. Some years I can manage to get in, others I can't. Why play this kind of game and not keep the paying members you already have?

I tried at start time.  The site simply made me login, login, login, login.  Now it is sold out.  I hope they open the renewal again.

Honestly being on the east coast has an advantage over other time zones as lunch hours typically start at 12. I know that not everyone has a 9-5 where that lines up with lunch

I got confirmation and says my membership car is being sent to my address.

Yes I have a smart phone, unfortunately I work outside operations at an airport and being on the phone is not always an option. Kind of difficult to be on the phone working in and around active aircraft. I hope they do another round of memberships so I can try again.

I was in the waiting room 2 hours before it opened and  it was 1145 when I got a chance to buy the car it circled me 6 times and kicked me out. Then when I went back I had to wait another hour before I got another chance to purchase. I think something was wrong with the site.

I was on the fence this year about rejoining because I am trying to save all I can for a rental property . Most likely I would have rejoined anyway but the fast sell out kicked me off the fence . So I’m ok with it but I hope everyone that wants in gets in . I will still get hot wheels just not as many . In the end all of this won’t matter anyway . It’s a fun hobby and there are some super cool cars . So have as much fun as you can with . If for some reason they don’t let anyone else in this year there is always next . Let’s try not to sweat the small stuff !! Have a good year !!!
