GARYSWHEELS Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 RLC gets a "F" for failing to take care of the people who have gotten them where they are today. While this may just sound like sour grapes, I think there should be a window of opportunity for present members to renew before it's opened up for new members. If I'm not mistaken it was once upon a time that way. Yes I'm upset that I didn't get to renew, but it's only because I've been a member since the beginning and I think there should be some loyalty shown for that. It would seem that Mattel doesn't care because they know that these fabulous little cars will sell no matter what. I'm done now, I've had my rant and I really don't feel any better. voodoo_g8_gt Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 This whole fiasco is creating a tremendous amount of "buzz" for Mattel. It's being hyped up as if though there are so many new members, when we really don't definitively know how many memberships there actually are or have been in the past. I know 25k was mentioned by someone, but that's unconfirmed. Wanna create more demand and be able to increase prices? Mattel is demonstrating how to do that right now. Simply allow for all the resellers who have dozens of accounts, get some social media influencers, and don't release membership numbers but have it sell out significantly faster than previous years. They could, thats certainly a possibility. i'd venture to guess that your number actually stays the same, and for moment is inactive so to speak. that'd be my guess Quote
Kdun Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 Hi I agree I have never seen it sell out so fast I was gone ands I just got back and thought I would check so I could get a membership only to find them sold out. I am pretty sure that only member RLC members could renew during the 1st week and if it was not that way it should be, this is the 1st time since 2008 that I will not be a RLC member. Hot wheels is like everyone else the $. Good luck Quote

HUNTNDOG Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 I do hope they open up new memberships for returning members....that would be the right thing to do...I lost my RLC number along time ago... I have a new one ...it’s just a number....it doesn’t define who I am...just my 2 cents.... Quote

Well for sure we have at least 15k members and last year it was said to be even more but they didn't release numbers. Now with adding more still this year it's anyone's guess. Betting 20k.? Quote
loaf Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 Gary let it slip in his pinned thread about adding more memberships, that 25,000 were sold 2 Quote Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about
