MARVJNF100 Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 i find this funny that after 10 years of being a red line club collector that i can't rejoin because its sold out, you will probably block me but something is wrong with this as to redline collectors in the past can't even sign up for the next year. some poeple work at the times that you sell RLC cars and join the club.pretty sure this and my self will be blocked. in closing thanks for your time and the years that i was able to be a member. Californiantoys Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 I've read through quite a number of forums with this same complaint. I'm right there with all of you. I've been a faithful customer and collector practically all my life to Mattel. I've been a returning RLC member for a number of years and have purchased prior years membership cars from E-Bay and other sellers. Every year until last year the number of memberships was stated before memberships went on sale and cars were numbered. There was a priority window for members which lasted a week if my memory serves me right. Cars were numbered up to the green Datsun 510 in 2018 and later in the year it seemed they added more meberships then what was originally stated. In 2019 The black 67 was not numbered and memberships were opened for a month or more before they finally closed it and never said sold out. I called customer service today and was told memberships sold out in 2 hours. The representative also told me she did not know how many memberships were available but told me it was 17,000 in 2019. She also tried to tell me that the first run car was never numbered to which I told her she needed to check the history. She asked me if I had tried to log on and purchase one to which I was honest and said no because I thought I had time. It wasn't stated that they were limited and they haven't been the last two years so I thought I did have time. It's all our fault because we didn't read the fine print that says were changing the rules and we don't care how our returning customers feel. Of course it was put in legal talk so they can't be sued. I'm through talking about this now. I hate that it has taken so much of my thought and energy today. I'm so soured about the club now and it has just gotten worse for all it's so called improvements. I was a good customer Mattel. So were many more previous members who are not going to be this year. I will not buy any new RLC cars on E-Bay. I looked and there were more 2020 Nissan Skyline club car and kits for sale on E-Bay then I care to count. Isn't that against the rules. I don't think Mattel cares so I don't know why I'm even writing this. Goodbye signed formerly an RLC member and Hot Wheel enthusiast. Quote
ZCADET28 Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 I read the rules on the pages about who could get a membership. And I got one. But the point Mattel is missing is this is called the Red Line Club. Usually clubs take care of their members that have been here a long time. Used to be RLC members could get a membership first and then later new members. If this is just a sales site, then change the name from RLC to something else. Clubs take care of members who have been here along time, who kept the club going by buying the products. How soon Mattel forgets that it was the old members who bought the Original 16 models and Mattel thanked the members for supporting the sales for those vehicles, because I read the posts. Quote
