6T9BOSS9 Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 Really Got the bug to open some Team Transports and keep them as dust free as possible. Maybe its been done elsewhere but got the idea to pull 6 of the shelves from those 48 to 50 car cases to see how it looks. Added some strips of that Grippy Shelf Liner Material on each level to maximize grip to stop them from moving. Will Experiment adding some LED Light Strips to make it pop even more and brighten up the Black plastic. Its been discussed in the Forums how the ones with the Boxy Enclosed Haulers weren't as popular as the Open haulers, seeing them all bunched together they do stand out and steal the show from the car. If you were able to grab these cases on sale when they were on sale for $35 Shipped they are still a reasonably economical way to display and store them. NYT
HWTrooper Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 Those displays work well for the transports. sig provided by rexsteven

1steditionman Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 Great idea. Now I want to open mine too! https://plus.google.com/b/111913890812768279514/111913890812768279514 [attachment=:name]
DAR1988 Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 Nice. I have bought a few transports because I like the cars that came with them. But no matter how one displays them they just take up too much space. One day I may open them and display the cars. Keep the trucks boxes.
Tasmanian Devil Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 Great idea sELECTIONs addict ... if you don't vote, don't complain about the result
6T9BOSS9 Posted March 4, 2020 Author Posted March 4, 2020 Had some time to Light'er Up a bit and tested some SMD 5050 Strips. Still somewhat inefficient use of space but i'm OK with it as an off the shelf solution. PROS: Brings out the colors that were absorbed by all the Black surfaces when using only the ambient lighting. Highlights the Flame Logo in the back of the case that is pretty much hidden otherwise. CONS: Need to make some angled mounting holders for the light strips as the "bead necklace" of the strip gets reflected. Heat buildup from the 5050 LED is up there, will have to try some 3528. NYT
