64th Street Garage Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Not happy about the awful pixalate livery and the wheels look unfinished. On the fence. MBX why do you have to make this so difficult. Stop making it look like a recycled Chinese Knock off. 🤨 3 2 Quote

In-hand, the Gulf Corvette, Pink Porsche 930 Turbo, and Porsche 911 RSR are phenomenal. (So is the Lamborghini Centenario, but it wasn’t called pixilated.) I’m definitely a Yes on this one. Quote

I called the vette pixilated . I own it it good from a distance. The Porsche is ok, looks better in person, but has that slight rough look. The red lambo is the nicest. If there going to charge a premium give me a premium product, not some supposed greener inferior product. If I want to go green I wouldn't be buying diecast, it's a waste of resources and energy. So if that's your bag, you shouldn't be buying diecast. If they can't make a good green product don't expect me to give my green for an inferior product. 64th Street Garage Posted February 9 Posted February 9 MBX this is what a clear and clean livery looks like. I'm annoyed because I was looking forward to this🤨 7 Quote
MSGcoop Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Wow I honestly cant see why this would cost $25. Save yourself the $ and just get the HW Premium version, much nicer. First off they continue to use the horrible tampos that look to be made with a 2000 model dot matrix printer. Secondly, those wheels are cheaper looking than the basic wheels on a mainline. It looks like a solid rim where as the cheap dollar MBX vehicles have rims that actually look like a real rim. Then there is casting itself. Something seems off about it, as if the body wasn’t a smooth casting, or maybe the paint is way too thick. Ive had to talk myself into buying the Jeep and bronco but I cant see continuing to buy these MBX collector vehicles unless they bring their standards up to par. The MBX mainlines have a better QC than these apparently. Appreciate the effort but missed the mark by far. 5 Quote -The reason a dog is man's best friend is because he does not pretend, he proves it-
fbattaglini Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I love the car, although I'd like to see something other than the 720S. The livery is Gulf but I think its poorly executed. The wheels are absolutely atrocious! Matchbox are a big part of my collection, but I can't spend $25 on something like that. I believe we need more new models and better wheels for premiums. Just my opinion. 2 Quote
dodob19 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I'm okay with it, except for the AWFUL headlights, which look worse than the cleaner mainline. Mainline's top row of beams were too large but this is just a pixelated mess. I got the burning desire to get one just to take a sharpie to it. Mattel also picked the worst picture as the cover: there are some angles where this casting/car looks stunning. Quote
Tony Tracy Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Even though I said I kinda like it, I'm not getting one. I bought the Jeep Gladiator in a moment of weakness and have regretted it ever since. I'll wait for another RLC I like.... 1 Quote

Unlike the Bronco: Moving Parts Bronco in "cyber orange" is one of my top 5 Matchbox models, but I really regret getting 2 Collector Broncos. It's not bad, it's just not as exciting or badass as the gloss black Gladiator. EDIT: Planning on getting 1 720S Spider in Gulf livery, just so I can display it next to the 2020 Gulf Corvette. The powder blue really worked for the vette, especially within the minimalist blue-orange diorama. Edited February 9 by dodob19 1 Quote
