In-hand, the Gulf Corvette, Pink Porsche 930 Turbo, and Porsche 911 RSR are phenomenal. (So is the Lamborghini Centenario, but it wasn’t called pixilated.) I’m definitely a Yes on this one. The gulf Corvette was definitely pixelated looking.... 1 Quote
Deacono Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Im in for one at least. I'll grab the elite 64 Audi while im at it. I like this casting and the deco. I have a feeling it will sell out faster than the last 3 MBX releases lol. 2 Quote
222HOTGP Posted February 10 Posted February 10 I am definitely in for one to add to my Gulf display. But man I feel like we are being taken for a fool at this price for what looks like MBX 1$ car in an acrylic box. 2 Quote

You could put Gulf logos on a toilet car and people would probably jump on it hoping it would sell decent aftermarket. It just too bad it's not more premium... 3 Quote

I was kinda making a joke because the last 3 releases haven't sold out yet. I mean, your not wrong though. Thankfully its not the "gotta go" casting lol. In all seriousness, they do need metal bases on these releases at the very least imo. Alas, as a mbx collector I'll keep buying what I like in hopes they'll improve on these releases like they said they would. 2 Quote
MORGEN99 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 So, don't like my comment and delete it? Speaking the truth now seems to not be allowed even here. It's ok, I wasn't planning on buying this anyways but deleting comments that aren't offense but maybe hurts your feelings seems childish. The wheels are trash on this, pretty much what I said. 1 2 Quote
64th Street Garage Posted February 12 Posted February 12 So tell me if this is a better nicer buy for the same money...I think so, oh and pick your shade of blue and orange. So disappointed in this MBX release. Making a fuss, because I want nicer decals and wheels. 7 Quote
DWE4 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Agree. Both Gulf Elva models are gorgeous. The Matchbox casting seems a little off in the photos. Some of the proportions don’t look right and it sits weird on the wheels. The graphics and paint seem fine. I, too, root for no pixilation—both here and generally in life. I’m still buying one. I'm certain that the sell-through will be on par with the Centenario. I don’t think this is the best Matchbox diorama piece that has been released. It might end up in the bottom half of the Matchbox Collectors cars I have. That said, I kinda like it so I’m a buyer. 2 Quote

At the beginning of the photo release, I was convincing myself that I was buying one, maybe two to tamper with one to try and fix it. The more I thought about how to customize a 25 dollar elite release, lets not kid ourselves, this is supposed to be above premium. That said, I just got mad at MBX for putting out something that isn't up to par and expecting us to just except it. I was looking forward to this like I said, then the photos dropped, A very big disappointment. This rant is twords Mattel MBX not anyone who likes the release or buying it. My stance is buy what you fancy and to heck with anyone's opinions. Opinions are like...well you know. 4 Quote

At the same price point, it is difficult to pull the trigger on the Matchbox, but I still will probably get on. 😏 1 Quote
