MoTUMik Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Do all figures eventually end up for sale there, or is it only a small selection (along with the exclusives of course)? Quote
MoTUMik Posted November 7 Author Posted November 7 Thanks for the reply! Yeah, that's what I thought. Just wondered whether it was worth waiting to see if any of the more recent releases will turn up there. Quote
Motufan80 Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Don't. Try BBTS first, ask around for advice on other retail figures here or on social media. For example, if you need a power punch He-man, try middle america, or ebay sellers in that region Mattel creation has never done another production run of an exclusive figure, they have only re-released older stock, usually in small quantities. Ebay and social media are sadly your best bet for those exclusives, don't wait around for Mattel Creations to re-release them. Quote

But those were rare exceptions and NOT the rule, so don't let that give you false hope. By neglecting to offer any more MTOs they are leaving a lot of money on the table. 1 Quote
MoTUMik Posted November 8 Author Posted November 8 Thanks for the replies and tips. I'm based in the UK and for the most part, I'm finding Mattel Creation's pricing pretty reasonable compared to some sellers over here - even with the cost of shipping to the UK. There is definitely some odd pricing choices though, £32 for Skelegod seems a bit optimistic even to this novice collector! It sounds like - apart from the Creations Exclusives - the stock is fairly haphazard then and not worth waiting to see if they stock New Eternia Mer Man say? Quote
Motufan80 Posted November 10 Posted November 10 Skelegod? So you collect masterverse, i assume? Besides the sale on bbts, there is amazon, some euro versions of amazon might ship to england, i order from the german one all the time, even though i'm not from there. Thewholeshebang is also based in the UK, sadly not an option for me due to the high shipping rates these guys use and the aditional VAT i need to pay since brexit. Smythtoys is also a good source of motu products in mainland europe, though sadly the british smythtoys stopped selling them, from what i heard. If you're close enough to the netherlands, tgen a round trip to rotterdam could net you a few cheap figures. The netherlands also have a few specialty shops that sell motu like TBH, toyboys, visiontoys, actionfigure playground, bol.com (gas skelegod up for 15 euro), TFrobots, oldschooltoys, a space odity, etc, have 'm shipped to a friend near rotterdam and pick 'm up on your way back. Las time we did that, he left with 6 castle grayskulls.😆 Quote
MoTUMik Posted November 10 Author Posted November 10 Yes that's right for the most part. Actually the Origins line acted as a gateway to the Masterverse line as a whole for me. Generally speaking, I find any savings in sales on US sites are wiped out by the cost of shipping to the UK. One of the reasons why I've been finding Mattel Creations to be quite good as their shipping to the UK is reasonable. EU versions of Amazon are a good tip, although I try to avoid buying anything from Amazon until I've exhausted other avenues. I'd stumbled across Thewholeshebang recently as it happens. They seem to be pretty good but don't hold a lot of older stock it looks like. The UK/EU Smythtoys difference is confusing and disappointing. I think I found the German site first and thought I was on to a winner! Oh well. Quote
MoTUMik Posted November 11 Author Posted November 11 No, that was just an example of something in the Mattel Creations shop where the pricing seems on the face of it, rather high. (Managed to get Skelegod for a very good price on eBay UK.) By the way, thanks for the names of the shops in the Netherlands. I'll be checking those out online! 1 Quote
