Micheapet Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I have a suggestion for the BFC... if you are checking out and yout want to use your quarterly bonus for a specific doll or items that are coming out later in the quarter, they should have an option box that you can check that says: "use quarterly bonus" and then you can have the option for it to be added to the doll or items you want and actually not be wasted on the first item(s) of that quarter that is in your cart. There are other dolls I want and buy but I had to make a non BFC account or sign in as a guest just so I can avoid having the bonus taken automatically out on the first items that come into my cart in the quarter and I shouldn't have to make a non BFC account to track or check status of other items I buy if I don't want to use the bonus. Some members might wait only for the doll or item they want and therefore buy less because they want to use their bonus for a specific doll or item. (Because of the way BFC is doing the bonuses now, I feel like that's more a penalization to your members because sometimes we do have more money to spend and want that bonus saved just in case a doll we've been eyeing comes out later in the bonus quarter.) I think this way would be more convenient and less restrictive so when you check the box, it will automatically take the $20 off and appy it to your order before you place your order and after you place your order, or when its already used, it will be gray so you know it can't be used again. Just a thought...

Just a thought... Posted by micheapet I agree, I suggested this a long time ago, but nothing ever came of it. We should be able to use it on what we want during the course of the quarter,NOT be forced to use it on our first order in the beginning of the quarter. I too have placed orders outside of my membership to avoid using it. Then you call CS,,and they can't figure out why you have multiple accounts under your name. It would seem much easier to have a box for us to select if we would like to use the reward on each purchase.I appreciate getting the rewards, but agree this option should be offered.

Posted by petey-pie No, I wouldn't say angst, rather just the option being able to use the discount when it works for the individual during the specified time frame. From what I gather, if you want tracking on your order, but don't want to use your reward, you need to create another login and password so they have an account to update the information to - more cyber junk for a user to remember. I am not sure, but don't think guest accounts do this? This would also help members who may have forgotten they have already used their rewards too by the space being grayed out. And when there is a great sale on, that extra $20 kicking around can be a great help/incentive to purchase. I know it helps cover most of the cost of shipping to Canada, so I use it in the most cost effective way possible if I can. I think it is a pretty good idea. Posted by luvmygrl I couldn't have said it better Luvmygrl. I would also say it's not angst... Think of it as maximizing the reward to its fullest possibilites!! It's just that sometimes when you have the money to spend and can afford to give the money, you don't want to use your discount (which I also appreciate like Jnrbarbiemom does ...Thanks BFC!!) at that time. My bills are paid so I can afford to spend. It's when you want a doll thats around your crunchtime that that "use your quarterly bonus" option would come in handy.. I personally would like to use my discount for a particular doll that will most likely be around $150 that I want to spend that discount on and it's coming up in September or October. Now this BMSM discount is a nice added bonus but I still wouldn't use my discount on the dolls I bought right now nor would I want to apply my discount in conjunction with the BMSM one, so I have to open up another non member account (so I can keep track of all the dolls I bought instead of searching my email for confirmations and summaries when I guest order) and save it for the doll I want that is more expensive. It would be more cost effective for me and I'm sure other members too!!

Posted by ToyBox Thank you for understanding this position:) I don't think anyone has said we do not appreciate the genersous $20.00 reward,,and there is definately no "angst" on my part. We are only suggesting that BC may offer a way for us to apply it to a specific order of our choice. We appreciate Toybox you taking this suggestion forward for us:)

Posted by petey-pie hmm didnt sense any angst though but i see this as an additional feature. i am not of the points system because i'm new but it isnt that difficult to throw in just one more function like this in the system but i think its better to let it be ticked/selected by default. so those who cares abt when to use it will get to untick it.. n those who dont really care, will not miss placing just 1 order for that quarter and missed the rebate. i think the latter one will be at a great loss because they might not have any dolls to purchase at this quarter anymore etc.. as they like to use the last rebate on the holiday dolls etc?
JUDYRAE Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 This could be a good idea, but I can see it now: BFC member orders a doll in July, doesn't use their reward because they are waiting for the August sale. The August sale doesn't happen, September sale doesn't happen so now Customer Service gets a highly irate BFC member calling because they want their quarterly reward credited to the purchase they made in July. After working over 20 years in retail, I could see this scenario would be played out on a regular basis. Collect what you love & you will love your collection. Bigotry wrapped in religion is still bigotry.
