Guest caty Posted October 5, 2003 Posted October 5, 2003 In question #3... the first doll with bl was Miss Barbie (1964), AG (1965) was the second. -Amanda
Guest caty Posted October 5, 2003 Posted October 5, 2003 Amanda, thanks for the link. I had somehow missed that whole section. Anyway, you are certainly correct, the answer to Question #3 in the Barbie History section should be Miss Barbie (1964). Hopefully, they will change it. Also look at Question #3 in the Barbie Fashion section. It's not even a question as it is, and is misleading. In the Vintage section there is another set of Trivia questions. BC never did seem to understand the point I was trying to make about a question there. Nor, has it been changed. So, I just let it go. Run a search for "Color Magic caty" to read the posts on Question #6. caty
Guest BC LisaS Posted October 7, 2003 Posted October 7, 2003 Hi Caty, Thanks for catching our boo-boos! The trivia will be updated shortly. As for the vintage trivia, I guess I'm not understanding your point. "Enchanting Gold" was never the name of a hair color choice on Color Magic. It's true that "Golden Blonde" was available, but we're looking for the *official* name. I know it's tricky. Feel free to email me at steadmal@mattel.com if you'd like to further clarify. Thanks!
Guest caty Posted October 7, 2003 Posted October 7, 2003 BC LisaS, Mandy4384 (Amanda) was the person who caught the 'bend leg' Barbie Trivia boo-boo. I was just resopnding to her post. I'll re-read my Color Magic Trivia comments, perhaps I'm the one that didn't understand the question. caty
Guest bjacollect Posted October 8, 2003 Posted October 8, 2003 In 1964 along with Miss Barbie Mattel sold some Swirl ponytails in their regular boxes as Bend leg dolls. These boxes had a special triangular Pink sticker on the front of the Box saying the doll had " Lifelike Bendable Legs" Yours Bruce

'caty' is my Board name. We've missed you at the last two Conventions. Hope your health is better now. The 'bend-leg-swirl' dolls were just mentioned in the Vintage Forum. Yes, I definitely do. In fact, I've also seen one in the competition room at B* Covention a few years back. Not only that, but I was just chatting w/ a friend who actually has one two days ago. They came in the regular '64 swirl boxes but with a big sticker that says something to the fact of "life-like bendable legs."
