Hi, BC LouE, et al! Hi!

It's great that the forums have been updated to reflect the membership preferences, but I'm wondering when we'll be getting a spell check feature?

Sometimes MY spelling reflects that I was only a spelling bee alternate! Red Face

While we wait for the remote possibility of a spell checker, please allow me to point you to the "edit" function.

Of course, we all should take the time to "proof read" our posts before we hit "post now" - but if we don't catch a typo, you can always edit it by using the little icon at the center of the icons just above the "reply" tab. It kind of looks like a file folder and a pencil eraser.

I can't tell you how many times I use that function/tool!!!

Thank you and Enjoy!

Thanks BZ, I do use the edit option a lot, but it is available after you do "POST NOW".

It sure is Nilsa - You can just click on the folder with the pencil eraser on it to edit an existing post!

Hi Alexmarie!

While I do write a message, I don't have the pencil for editing among my options while typing it. Do you? I just have it after posting the reply. I have the graemlins, then color, url, bold, italics, strikethrough, quote, start list, insert e-mail address, display image, UBB code </> . No pencil Don't Know

My point for a preview is that you can actually see how your post will look before the Post Now. With the html in there sometimes it is hard to tell if something is wrong. I did correct sometimes and then erase a little part of the HTML PC Guru by accident. Depending on connection speed, many times someone gets to see the post while I'm still correcting it. Wink

The spell checker sure is helpful for those like me with English as a second language.

Hope the techs can do something!! Hate Computer

Have a safe 4th!

How did I miss this? I'm so sorry Nilsa!

No, you are right, the pencil is only there after you post.

I know a lot of people (mods included) would love a preview option, but it just doesn't exist on the board code as it is now.

I know Lou is always asking for it though!

Nilsa I have a spell checker that works with IE if that is the browser you use. It is called ieSpell. I use it all the time in posting my messages. Very handy, free (for personal use) download. I will get you a link to the website for it. It is very unobtrusive and a safe program to use. (No spyware/adware, etc.)

THIS is the site. Hope this helps. I got this neat little gadget from my instructor in PC Doctor class at Barnes 'n' Noble University online.

If you need any help just holler! Smile
