i am sorry, but i am very angry, my favorite doll, skipper is not being produced, and i am curious why?, they hedge and don't answer our quesons. can you mods please ask the playline why not skipper, for a line of her own .....or at least in the cali girl line, she has been around for 40 years, and i have her in all sizes

now mods can you explain why we can't have a skipper collectible? a repo, or a silkstone, or maybe have her in an fancy outfit.

all i am asking is why, we love barbie's first sister, and want her back

thanks for all the help

Yes, the porcelain Skipper was so fantastic, but I don't collect porcelain... I would love her in Silkstone and Vinyl... that would be fantastic! Big Grin

I don't buy the repros, but a repro (vinyl) Skipper is one I would make an exception for. I would have to draw the line at a silkstone Skipper, though. Wink

I'd like a vinyl Skipper too. There is a rare European Skipper that was made around 1972 that wore a dress with flowers on it that would be perfect to reproduce. I saw this doll for a couple of hundred dollars or more at convention. I have a picture of it if any of the Mods would like one.

Sorry sisterskipper, but there's not much we can tell you, nor much help we can provide. We're mainly here to answer questions about the site and, to some extent, about the Collector line (and often we have to refer those questions to other people to get the answers). The how and why of what dolls are produced or aren't produced are simply outside most of our discussions.

We've got links and info on who to contact at Mattel to give them your firsthand feedback here, and we've been assured that they DO like to hear from customers to know what they like, don't like or would like.

Beyond that, we can pass on the fact that we've seen posts asking for a Skipper reproduction, but can't make any promises that anything will come of that.

(And, just so we're all "playing by the rules", so to speak, this forum is really for posting suggestions for online content... ideas for the BarbieCollector.com website.)
