The primary reason I pay my membership fee to be a part of this Fan Club is to purchase the Platinum Dolls.  Not so much for the quarterly rewards.  They are nice, don't get me wrong, but they do not even come close to making up for the lost opportunity of acquiring an extremely limited edition doll.  Neither I, nor my mom, received any notification whatsoever that this doll was being released.  Our eMail addresses have not changed, our accounts are up to date; BC is added to contacts, etc., AND we are both receiving all the other eMails from Barbie Collector related to the club (e.g., a recent reminder to use club reward before 9/31).  This is not the first time this has happened, and it's beyond unacceptable!  You are a huge, corporate, supposedly professional company!  What's worse is that the only thing one ever gets in return is "Oh, we're sorry, there was a glitch in the system" or something to that effect.  MORE than that needs to be done when this happens.  E.g., perhaps an additional $100.00-$150.00 reward certificate -- as that is about the amount of markup that would have to be paid to acquire the doll on the secondary (eBay) market.

Am I the only one out here who feels this way???

I don't recall an email for the Lagefeld doll. But I've sure known about her and when she was available for order for a LOOOONG time.

Did you miss the front page of the "Modern Forum" for the last month? The details were officailly posted on 9/2 by Erica. There was other talk before that.

No, my life is too busy to be frequently strolling this website for that information.  And if that has become the new and only way to find out about these dolls, it would have been nice to be informed of that change from Barbie Collector!  For the last 10 years, I've always gotten eMail notifications for Platinum dolls (except for a couple other times like this when I didn't).

We're sorry you missed her release.  Nothing has changed on the email side of things as the KL Barbie was the first platinum doll in many years that was not a BFC exclusive doll.  Since it wasn't a BFC exclusive, no emails were sent regarding the release, however, as with BC issued dolls, there were several 'sticky' posts at the top of the Modern Forum from the admins.
