Barbie Collector rewards decreased

Due to the additional $2.00+ shipping and handling charges and the sales tax charges in only specific states the Barbie Fan Club rewards are maybe half of what they used to be if you do the math. And the customer service leaves alot to be desired. Dolls on backorder for months (Batman Ken Doll), then when it finally supposed to ship it's put on back order again, then when it's supposed to be shipped it's put on back order again and if you don't respond your order gets cancelled (I was in the hospital when this email came). I have to reorder the doll on the phone which means I get NO email confirmation of my order and when I do get the email of the order has shipped they send me the wrong doll (Vintage Catwoman Doll). Now I have to make sure I catch the delivery of the doll and refuse delivery or I have to pay for it to be returned and they will reimburse the shipping charges. I ordered the doll March 9, 2013 it is now July 31, 2013 - way to go Barbie Fan Club. In addition we always have to wait months for our fan club membership card and whatever else they send with it. Is there an incentive to join any more - I question that, especially if you live in California.

We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with your quarterly rewards, availability of new items to the shop, or are having problems with current orders. A BC representative may contact you directly about your recent order.

 

The rewards have not decreased and are still in the full $20 amount, but State and Federal laws mandate that retailers charge sales tax. This means that customers are asked to pay sales tax for items purchased from the BC retail shop. While it may seem unreasonable to have to pay sales tax, it is a requirement set by the government.  I don't mind paying my fair share: I pay sales tax in California for all of my purchases online and in retail stores.
