Do I really have to unclick "subscribe to this discussion" every time I respond to a thread?

I mean, seriously? Is there something in the preferences that allows me to default to an unsubscribed state when I compose a response? I don't need to get emails for EVERY SINGLE RESPONSE to EVERY SINGLE THREAD I happen to comment on.

We're working to get the subscribe box UNCHECKED as the default (instead of checked as it is now).  Thanks for your patience!
