Cannot bookmark forum threads or open messages in a new tab or window

The new forum software does not allow links to be opened in new tabs or windows. When reading the forum I prefer to open multiple message threads in different tabs so they can load and I can read them all without having to repeatedly press the "back" button. This is no longer possible, which makes browsing the forum even more tedious and time-consuming than it was before.

It is also impossible to bookmark a message thread, or to send someone a link directly to a thread. No matter what the URL says, the forum listing page is always loaded.

Please consider changing this. It serves no purpose other than to reduce the usability of the forums.

This is my issue as well; tedious and time consuming is right.  Also, I have my browser set to restore my last session and would leave some threads open in tabs so I could easily pick up where I left off.  Not an option now.  Between this and not being able to stay logged my inclination to read and post has seriously diminished.

I find it annoying that I can't open in new tabs without having to log back in and find what I was trying to open.  I would like to have that feature back.  I leave my browser open to the forums and when I come back later I have to log in again.
