To all who have been hurt by the friends thingy

I have been very  hurt because I invited four members to be my "friend" and none have replied.  I feel let down, disappointed, and very upset that Barbie Collector added this feature.  Now I find it impossible to have any joy coming here.  I know now that the folks I thought were my friends never were.  Thank you so much Barbie Collector for turning an adult site into a children's site where kids can see who has the most friends and bicker about who's friend is more important!  Prior to this inane idea, I didn't feel such an outsider.  Now I find I can no longer post to their sites nor to have them post on mine.  Again, in the rush to bring more customers to this site and thus make more money, BC has neglected to think about the sad consequences!!

Darla, I am very sorry you are disappointed with the new friends feature.  Perhaps those you have requested as friends are not even aware of the feature or how it works.  Have you tried PM'ing your fellow members?  I am a bit of a pollyana and I dont think they are trying to be intentionally cruel.

I find the friend feature useful in following the posts of my fellow mods but in no way feel the need to use it as a popularity contest. 

I hope you wont feel like an outsider and will continue to post.

To add friends go to your Activity page.  Click on your Inbox in the black navigation area at the top.  Click on Contacts and from here you can seach for and send friend requests.

For what is it worth, every one who requested me as a friend, I had to delete and start over... so if you requested me, please request it again.  I had some problems with an adblock add on through firefox and had to delete all the contacts I had already begun, so now I'm back to zip... please start again. 

 

Darla - please try not to be upset.  Really it's not a popularity contest around here, we're all in the same boat with learning the new site and getting about it as easily as possible.  Also, making friends takes time and communication - not just a click of a button.  And the best way to make friends here on the board is to participate in some of the member activities!!  There are several going on now too that you might want to check out in the Doll Customization forum.  Meantime, please be patient with us... friends will come, I promise!  Thanks honey!
