Guest ROBBBAR19951572401050 Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 I am fairly new to the Barbie collecting and I have 2 of the princesses (Danish and Renaissance). The face on my danish matches the face on the box - she is beautiful; however, I was very disappointed that the face on my renaissance doll did not match the face on its box (her eyes have a 'dull' look and they look upward). How does this happen? Are you able to rectify the situation in order that the renaissance princess face matches the face on the box? I wanted to get the french princess; however, I have learned that her face does not match the face on its box either. A friend of mine ordered the Inuit doll and her face did not match the face on its box. Is this a common occurrence? Is there anyway the face difference can be improved or made to match the face on the box? If so, I would like to have my renaissance princess face re-done. Thank you! BARBIEZANIA Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Hi Barb. I'm sorry to hear of your disappointment. Most times the dolls that are photographed for promotional pictures, or for packaging or catalogs, they are photos of the prototypes. When dolls go into mass production - such as with the Dolls/Princesses of the World, it can have an appearance that varies from the promotional dolls. The earlier D/POTW are good examples of this as you point out. It has been a common occurrence but one that Mattel has looked into and has addressed based on members comments/complaints here. Thank you and Enjoy!
