Guest VTELEVEN Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 In this busy and expensive time where people and companies are trying to cut back...I can relate... However, I don't understand Mattels new shipping methods... First - my orders take 3 - 5 days just to leave the warehouse...the money is gone almost instantly from my acct. since I check that 24 hours later but it seems lately - at least this entire year - that nothing leaves the warehouse for 3 days or more. Very disturbing? Then the package seems to be on a slow boat to me - via FedEx first (And this is where I'm totally confused) then onto USPS priority...!?! I am confused as to why the "layover" in shipping was incorporated into the process!? Why does it take up to 5 days just to leave the building - then about 4 - 5 days for FedEx- then USPS to get it to me? I havent received my packages in less than 9 days...(that is the soonest all year since last Fall). The longest was 14 days with the weekend factored in...usually it's 11 days on average. I dont get it!? Is the company getting a deal for the double shipping method/shipping time? I can ship a couple dolls to someone in CA from CT clear across the country and it will cost around 10.00 as a private citizen - no established account and nothing but priority shipping and it will arrive in 2-3 days tops - but a huge company like Mattel takes 11 days and its normally 8.00 for one doll...what am I missing? Upon checking ... an order that was placed Tuesday afternoon is still sitting - FedEx has been 'informed' but it hasn't gone anywhere - if I goes out tomorrow, I'll be pleasantly surprised but most likely- with the track record - it will be Monday...(((sigh))). I would love to hear a detailed process of why it takes up to 5 days to process an order and why another 5 to 7 days for it to reach me...??? Any honest feedback would be appreciated...I dont want the 'Dancing with the Politicians' version... ;) LOL
Guest LIgal1161572393051 Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Completely agree, Vin. My dolls went from already taking too long to arrive to taking ridiculous amounts of time to arrive. 10 days is absurd (and yes, it's taken that long). It's the reason I no longer order through the site, unless I need to use a reward or buy an exclusive. When I can get my dolls from the west coast in 3 days, while I live on the east coast (the Mattel warehouse is WAY closer), that's a sign that the system is broken. Arguments that this is routine for large businesses do not hold up. I do a lot of online ordering. In the past two weeks, I've ordered from 6 different online places, none of them small operations (including Amazon, HP, Macy's, Target, a contact lens place and a shoe place). They all have reasonable shipping charges and not one arrived in more than 4 days -- including processing time. Two of the boxes were larger than Barbie shipping boxes. They've lost my business until it's fixed (with the exceptions above). I've watched my items "process" for 5 days straight, to have to wait another 5 days for "Smart" Post to deliver something that I could drive and pick up faster. I've never seen anything like it.
FRANCASTWIGG Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Add me to the unhappy with Mattel's shipping. It takes me about 3 weeks to a month to get my order. I order from Amazon and QVC quite a bit. My Amazon orders (with free shipping) arrive in one or two days (including processing). QVC which is across country from me, 5 to six days (including processing). Standard shipping costs for QVC is about the same that Mattel charges. Mattel for the most part no longer gets much of my business, more because they don't produce dolls I want to buy. But the unacceptable shipping method from the BFC Shop is also a big part of it. I will buy the Nightly Brights BFC Silkstone Francie set (because I love Francie), but I know I won't get her before the month of January due to the super slow shipping. I would also appreciate a straight answer about this, not the usual "wish-wash" answer from a Mod that doesn't answer anything. ~ Jackie ~
