luvmygrl Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I received an order the other day for my Roger Sterling and due to the last post about this, I decided to check the declared amount. It was declared at $74.95, which in truth is the retail price, but I purchased him during the 25% off sale, so really it should have only been $56.21. Now, thankfully I was not charged duties when I picked him up at the post office, but what if it had been a larger, more costlier order? I would have had to pay. I understand that being able to purchase from BC.com, and for it to be shipped to my country I have to pay duties and whatever taxes my country/province decides to charge me. I get that, and that is OK. It would just really suck when I buy something on sale, spend a few hundred dollars (on sale prices), and then see that the declared value would be at original retail price. 12% tax, plus whatever duty I get charged can add up pretty quick on a few hundred dollars. Again, I understand that customs & taxes are something I agree to when purchasing internationally. I am just asking that your packing/shipping department be more diligent on declaration forms. I would hate for this to happen during a major sale event (i.e. dream sale). Thank you and Happy Holidays to everyone @ Barbie Collector! Guest BC Jodie Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Hi Pam! Thanks for your post. We're currently looking into the declarations form issue with our shipping department to find out what specifically, from a customs standpoint, we're obligated to declare when shipping to Canada. We're hoping to have a resolution soon, but in the meantime, we thank you for letting us know about this, and hope you have a great holiday, as well! BC Jodie
