Hi teddyslivingbarbie,

We checked with our design group on this one. Here's the reason for the stitching:

"We almost have no choice but to stitch the head on dolls that have long hair and are packaged in a window box. The hair is too slippery and will fall out of the hair holder if not stitched to the holder and or the insert. This causes the hair to flop all over the place. The window will create static and the hair can stick to the window. The hair fibers that we use have memory (meaning they hold a curl) and as the customer has noticed if it is distorted in a strange way it will permanently remain that way. Our choice is to try and control the hair in a poison where we feel would have the best outcome after pack out."

Dear Mods,

Could someone PLEASE get the packagers to NOT stitch a doll's hair to the back of the box it is in? I almost ruined my MOD FOR NOD's hair just trying to extricate her from her box. The dolls are held securely enough by all the twist-ties and foot-stocks, so I don't see the need for the extra hair-stitching.

Another thing closely connected with what I previously stated above: I am also not a fan of having a doll's eyeglasses stitched to the top of its head. I think it puts a limit on what garments you can put on a doll, unless you remove the eyeglasses -and again, risk damaging the doll's hair. The repro BUSY GAL and FAR OUT BARBIES had their eyeglasses rubber-banded to their hands. Why was this practice discontinued?

Thank you for taking time to read this. I look forward to your response.

Best regards,
