Guest khuren Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 I am very upset about the decision Mattel has made. I don't think it is fair. I think the old way was better and I am a firm believer in the saying "It it ain't broke, don't fix it." True, the price of the membership has gone down considerably, but you will be losing so many people by excluding those who cannot afford to buy it! I am fortunate enough to be able to afford the membership and be able to purchase Barbies on occasion, but I still think Mattel is making a big big mistake. Just becasue you love Barbie doesn't mean you can afford her! Some people on this board come to chat and socialize while they scrimp and save for one doll. The support here when you find out you can't afford that one doll you want helps a lot of people get through it. The actual pictures, real discussions and accurate descriptions of dolls has convinced many people to run out and buy a certain Barbie. I was thinking about a membership but now I am not so sure. I don't know that I want to give Mattel my money. They don't seem to care much about their customers. If they did, they would realize that the most dedicated ones, the ones who have the best things to say about Mattel, are the members who haven't paid for a membership. I implore Mattel to reconsider this move. I think you will be losing more people than you gain.
