Guest TARALJC Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I just got my wardrobe, and I am loving the design! However, I was surprised to find that the front of it, the plastic is not uniformly smooth. There are what appears to be thin slices of the finish "missing" along the front of the wardrobe. I'm not sure how else to describe it. The slight depressions in the plastic are uniformly spaced at the top, along the sides of the 2nd drawer from the bottom. If you run your finger along the plastic, you can feel them. And they are visible--I can take photos when I get home tonight, to help explain. There are also two large squares of raised plastic on the front of the bottom section, where the bottom slides out so you can replace the wallpaper inserts. I could try sanding them away with Brasso myself (and I might, if they are common to all the produced wardrobes, rather than just a defect in the one I received), but I'm not sure why they are there. Was it from how the moulds were assembled and the plastic cast off the moulds? I don't want to permanently damage the wardrobe, but they are very noticeable. ETA: It's difficult to get them to show up in still photos, but here you can see one edge of the roughly 1" mark at the bottom. There are two of them, with sharp, defined edges that particularly catch the light. I'll see if I can get a better shot using natural sunlight tomorrow.
SHEREEM Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Tara, I'll check mine when I get home and see if I have the same. I'll report back to you! Tara, if you can take pics of the part where the wallpaper goes that you are talking about - I don't see anything on mine. (add them to your original post please!) I think I know what you are talking about on the surround for the 2nd drawer - looks like possibly mold marks - there are two on each side, equally spaced, raised. I don't see any finish missing on any parts. Tara, thanks for the photo. I don't see that on mine so if you feel you'd like to return it, CS can assist you.
Guest BCCS LesP Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Dear Tara, We just received our display wardrobe in Customer Service and we are can see the same depressions that you show in your pictures. This is most likely a result of the molding process. The depressions are uniform, showing in the same area on ours and in the picture that you provided, so I would expect that all of the units are very much the same. If you are not satisified with your wardrobe, you can always return it for an exchange or refund.
