Guest felicityk1572393052 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I logged out of my account and then clicked on Community to see what was visible to me. In the list of posts, I can see, for example, that Shereem posted to a particular topic. Underneath the title of that topic, I see "Become a barbie fan club member to see exclusive content", with a link to join the club. So far, so good. However, when I click on Shereem's name, I can see her Activity page with the entire content of all her posts. This to me is unacceptable. Even more worrying, I typed my username into the search box at the top of the page and was able to call up my entire profile, complete with Photos, my Collection, and all my posts, even though I have had all my Privacy Preferences set to NO since day one. I know several people who are staying away from this site due to privacy issues. Because we have not heard anything since the first week of the new site about content from the board being visible to non-members, I would like some assurance that this is still being worked on. Members should be made aware that these issues still exist so that they can make an informed decision on whether to continue posting. This will be my last post until I am sure that board content is locked down to non-members and my Privacy Preferences are actually in effect. Thanks, Felicity
Guest TOYBOX1572402193 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 BarbieZania just put in a request for additional information or updates regarding privacy on the Boards. Please be patient with us in leui of the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Guest BCCS JenM Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Hi Felicity, thank you for your post. I will forward this up to our techies to see if we have any updates, but it may be a couple of days before anyone will reply due to the Thanksgiving holiday. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Guest Mo11601572395215 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Thank you Felicity for addressing this issue. I think a post here on the board and an email should be sent to everyone updating this issue since so many people are staying away.
