Complaint Against A Fellow BC Member

This is a complaint I'd hoped I never get to write/post especially since BC is already saddled with a lot of technical problems and sale issues this year and I am trying hard not to say anything against a fellow BC member, but I feel like just keeping quiet in a corner just emboldens this member to be more "hostile" if you can believe it. And yes, if you don't believe me, you can review this member's posts and tell me that they're not oozing with negativity!

I have enjoyed this board since 2003 and I feel that this is a place where I can go to celebrate a shared hobby with other collectors and know that I won't get ostracized for expressing an opinion which may not always be the same with the rest of the members. I have noticed that this particular member keeps hijacking threads, it seems to me, to personally jump on someone's post and make that poster feel idiotic for posting. It also seems that this member only sees his/her opinion as the only one that is valid and the rest of the membership are dimwits. I do not know what his/her issue is but I don't think this kind of behavior/attitude is acceptable.

I should not feel intimidated to post my opinions on the boards for fear that someone in the sidelines is at the ready to make fun of them!

I also refuse to be bullied into lurkdom or to find another doll board as some members did because of this negativity. But I do find myself staying away from the boards because seeing this member's posts always leave a bad taste in my mouth. Oh yes, you can tell me about the wonderful "ignore" button but that is not the case here. I need to reiterate that bullying is unacceptable and haven't we been told that we have to observe a certain sense of decorum when posting on the boards here (and this is also plain common sense).

Also, please don't tell me I am the only one who feels this way as I refuse to believe that. This is not new. I just don't feel that any steps have been taken in the past to discourage this kind of behavior. I have seen other complaints of this nature in the past and I believe that some of those members have given up and left. I hope that you do address this issue and put a stop to this behavior. Yes, adults can be bullies too!

A member I'm very close to quit posting months ago because she was jumped on and made to feel that her opinions (expressed in a polite manner) were wrong and insignificant.  Everyone's feelings are valid and of value here.  We should be able to come here and discuss Barbie without a know-it-all attitude coming down on us.  Belittling is very hurtful IMO.

We take bullying very seriously and I suggest in addtion to blocking the offending member that you also send a private message to the Member Mods (AuntieVern, ToyBox, Shereem) so we can further address this problem.  Thank you.
