JEMINI13 Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 As you all may know by now, the system crashed this morning ruining the "opportunity" to obtain one of these awesome dolls. I am not bitter about not getting one. Unfortunately, I was not successful. I am slightly upset...But I am more upset about this being the 4rth time this site crashed during such an important release. Last year it crashed when trying to renew for the 2010 club and the purchase of Palm Beach Honey. Next was Glimmer of Gold. Next was the renewal of the 2011 club and purchase of Ekaterina. Now this has happened yet again for Pinch of Platinum. Whatever...My point is this, How can a multi-billion dollar company allow this to happen? Not to mention that RULE 10 of your membership states that there shall be NO pre-sales of Mattel Exclusive merhcandise..how about that? Hmmm? And the fact that there was to be 1 doll per membership, while Ebayers have multiple listings. Currently there are over 17 listings on Ebay for this doll...$150-$400.00...Wow, ok, really? Now, I have been a collector for over 20 years and I have seen crazy to decent prices of Barbie dolls. I know this seems like am bitter about not getting this doll, but I can get her on Ebay obviously..so who cares? My point is that our membership states that we are offered an "opportunity" to get a Platinum Label Doll and that we are not "guaranteed" to get one, I get that and completely understand...But it would be nice to at least have a fair chance without system errors and in the event of system errors..take the phone order...It's about customer service people..We as collectors have spent THOUSANDS of dollars with Mattel on Barbie and I would hate to think that has changed my mind because Mattel, the maker of my favorite doll has allowed Pinch of Platinum to become a Pinch of Disaster......Just Sayin'
Guest laura7x71572387672 Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 I think Barbie should increase the number of dolls to make ammends to the consumer. ~Laura~
