Guest sisterskipper Posted September 28, 2003 Posted September 28, 2003 I really enjoy the teen Skipper line, but I feel she was not taken to the fullest. Where was prom date Skipper? Skipper never got a boyfriend to take her out on dates. Teen years are a great time for many of us. The Skipper line is a great line for playing teen situation such as prom, movies, school activities, etc. I would like to see her friends Courtney and Nikki return also. She also needs some great fashions with attention to detail done for her. Skipper has been around for years. I hope she is not going to skip her way out of the Barbie line.
Guest sisterskipper Posted September 28, 2003 Posted September 28, 2003 so many of agree with you we need skipper back but she seems to always play second fiddle to barbie and kelly i want my skippers baCK TOO i believe, what i believe, at the time i believe it.
Guest glamerboy Posted October 4, 2003 Posted October 4, 2003 Teen Skipper was a nice doll. I only wish that she was more like Francie. She was a little to thin and leggy for the outfits that were first out for her. On the other hand they were much nicer on Francie. So I have to say thank heavens for Teen Skipper, because Francie got a whole new wardrobe with shoes to. Ron.
KENDU Posted October 5, 2003 Posted October 5, 2003 Ever since Skipper was aged to 16, she's been ignored. Obviously, if Mattel has an interesting concept for a teenaged doll they are going to make it a Barbie doll rather than a Skipper doll. I would love to see something like a Generation Girl Skipper or a Teen Idol Skipper. And I'd also like to see Stacie back in the line. Mattel still uses Stacie and her friends in childrens books, but they've been discontinued in the playline. There should be dolls representing age groups between little Kelly and a teen-aged Barbie.
Guest glamerboy Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 I agree with what you are saying. Barbie should grow-up and Teen Skipper should assume her title as the Teen Beauty. If a 16 year old girl would do it a 25 year Woman should not be made to do it. If I hurt anyone's feeling sorry, but Barbie looks 25 not 16. Even if they just include Skipper in some of the lines would be great. Like Pop Star or Back to School. Ron.
Guest AURAWHY Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 Because of her stong identity in the marketplace, I do not expect to see Skipper usurp Barbie's place as the teenage queen of fashion. However I do agree that Barbie is a little older than a teenager. As old as she may seem, look back to her beginnings & tell me if there is anything 'fresh-faced & youthful' about her appearance before the introduction of TNT, & even then she looked to be in her 20's. She really didn't look young until Malibu or Superstar. I was hopeful that teen Skipper would be a big success like Francie, but I guess that wasn't the case.
Guest Nakago_Chan Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 Skipper has always been one of my favorite dolls. I always felt she was cuter than Barbie and wished Matel did more with her as for a while there, it seemed she fell off the face of the earth. It was not until I saw the pink box Rio Beach series (I belive that was what it was called atleast ^^; that I saw her again and was thrilled to see that she was still as cute as ever. I really wish Mattel would do more with her ^^;;
Guest BC LisaS Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 It's good to see so much love for Skipper! She's one of my faves!!! Just to let you know, Skipper is part of the Play Line group at Mattel. Barbie Collectibles has never had much to do with her. However, I have already passed your requests along to see a comeback for Skipper.
Guest sisterskipper Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 thank you....hopefully our pleas will help i believe, what i believe, at the time i believe it.
Guest noahben Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 Teen Skipper should continue to be a part of mattels line. How about incorporating her into the My Scene Dolls?
