Guest BC ValerieC Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 These interesting tid bits are sometimes revealed in our Featured Doll stories that we do monthly on the site. There is a link to the featured doll story in the Ponytail Press. We have done stories on the BFMC dolls in the past, but they are no longer on the site. Be sure to check the Ponytail Press for these stories in the future! Here is a link to this month's story: http://www.barbiecollector.com/whatshot/featuredoll/index.asp
Guest firefawn Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 I found this posted under the Marie Therese topic by moderator Liz G.: "Maria Therese is a bride doll, from the Barbie Fashion Model Collection (silkstone). The doll is an exact replica of Robert Best's sister - her beautiful looks and her wedding gown. Robert designed his sister's weddding gown, and was so inspired, he turned his real-life sister into a doll." Wow! I would never have heard this interesting bit of information if I hadn't happened upon it in that post. Was this great piece of info posted elsewhere and I missed it? Is there a place on the Barbie Collectibles site with more stories on the inspiration behind Robert Best's designs for the Fashion Model line? To hear his thoughts and commentary on the design of each doll would make these dolls even more special! Please consider this! Thanks! :-) Diana
