Unfortunately, the Lingerie doll was upsetting to some consumers. Even though those of us who collect understand that she was all about fashion, and that Barbie and other dolls have been produced in Lingerie type outfits since the 60's, many people were concerned.

 

So, we asked our dealer partners to not advertise the doll, to avoid upsetting anyone. However, we wanted to make sure loyal collectors could still buy her - so we were able to sell the doll through normal retail channels.

 

This seemed the best comprimise.

Why was the Lingere Silkstone #6 doll pictures banned and taken out of ads?

Granted the lingere she was wearing is hidious(loved the doll herself though), but that was no reason to ban her picture!
