Guest dianaross1572397502 Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 Because black dolls are exculsive the the USA. Its best to find a friend or dealer who will get them for you. And theres not that big of a black doll market in europe. Most of the dolls the kids play with are blonde. Most productions of black dolls are very limited. Most black familys only buy a certain nuber of dolls as moneys go to other things and dolls are there for a little while then its on to boys, clothes, make-up you know what im saying. I have been collecting black dolls for a long time and have several hundred. I use to get so excited everytime I seen a new black barbie. although now the high end dolls have become more culture related. and thats fine I like the glamour dolls myself. After visiting many many collectors and seeing there collections most european collectors I know maybe have one black doll or none. I have seen a few with larger collections but you know its up to ones taste. Most black collectors I have seen either have diverse collections or only black dolls. I have met some collectors who only who limit themselfs to only certain dolls. " when you wish apon a barbie star, you can be whatever you are"
Guest FASHIONDOLLCOLLECTOR1572384204 Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 HI, I am a Barbie collector since the 1980´s and I prefer the AA versions. But here in Germany I don´t get any aa Barbie!! The only AA Barbie for this year was the Rio Christie. OK, we get the complete My Scene line, but this is not the traditional Barbie line. Please understand, I am not alone in Germany who wants AA Barbie´s!! I wish that I can get some AA in 2004 in our stores here!! quote:
Guest GingerJody Posted August 7, 2003 Posted August 7, 2003 There are PLENTY of black dolls sold here in England. For every Barbie my local Toys R Us stocks, they always have the black Christie doll from the same range. This also applies to Steven (Ken's black friend), Nikki (Skipper's friend) and to Shelley's friends. My problem is we NEVER get any Teresa dolls in the UK! Teresa is my favourite of Barbie's friends but in the last 2 years, the only one that has been sold in my Toys R Us was Secret Messages Teresa. Since then, not a sign of her... Please Mattel, send more Teresas to England!!! Thanks, Jody http://www.britishbarbie.co.uk
