Guest BarbieBeetle1572395218 Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Hello. I received my Chic City Suit Silkstone Barbie but her dress appears to be defective. I contacted Barbie Collector over the phone. The representative said that it was probably not supposed to be that way, when I asked her if all the dresses were like that. She said it was ok to send back for another one and mark the return as damaged. I have the box all packed up and ready to ship out tomorrow (Monday) but after seeing comments and responses on line from others, I wonder if it's a futile point to return it. I've read and heard that some others have experienced a similar situation with their Chic City Suit dolls. Can someone at BC tell me whether or not all of the dresses for Chic City are made in this or similar manner (i.e. with the thread showing around the snap closures on the back of the dress) or are these just a few defects that fell through the cracks of the quality check? Here's a photo so you may see the dress sewn with thread on the outside / back of the dress. Is this supposed to look like this? Thank you for looking into it and for your response.
MISSTAE Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 My pix aren't as clear, but I took these in order; showing the top, middle, and bottom snaps. #Savage
Guest BarbieBeetle1572395218 Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 I wrote this on July 17. Still no response. Not even an acknowledgement.
Auntievern Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 I can move your post to Member Complaints where a BC Customer Service mod is more likely to see it and reply. If you are want other members to share pictures and or comment, I will leave the post here. In any case, in general, it is better to return merchandise you are unhappy with IMO. -- Veronica / AuntieVern ~ Member Moderator
Guest BarbieBeetle1572395218 Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Thanks Veronica. My reason for not returning it is because it appears that all of the dresses are like this so why return just to get another in the same condition? I was wondering was this acceptable from Barbie Collector / Mattel's perspective and it seems that it is. So I decided to just keep the doll. I also wonder what does Robert Best think about this garment quality being used for a silkstone (i.e. the threading being visible on the outside of the material)? Is he even aware of this issue?
