An open letter to the makers of Barbie from a long time fan

Some recent discussions here have prompted me to voice my opinions. Feel free to add your own.

I joined the BFC because I am a fan of Barbie. I like to come here and see sneaks of new dolls and learn information about the dolls being offered in the shop.

It would be helpful to be offered "sneak peeks" before finding out the information elsewhere.

Details about the dolls would also be very welcome: Head sculpt, body style, designer, production numbers, approximate release date, whether or not the fashion is removable, whether snaps or velcro are utilized, whether or not the head is filled with glue and whether the clothing may stain the doll.

I feel that Mattel should proudly stand by the dolls they produce and be transparent and forthcoming with the information about them.

Keeping production numbers secret and not disclosing information about the dolls feels like deceptive practice to me.

Mattel does not need to resort to trickery to sell me their dolls. A fine doll at a fair price is all I need to open my wallet.

I agree w/ you! As time goes by, they keep getting worse and more sneaky and underhanded w/ their "tatics" I too have been collecting and buying from mattel for 30+ yrs. and in all that time, I have never seen things like they are doing now, especially in regards to quality and price!  Ireally hope that they get a clue before they drive away more collectors and destroy our beautiful barbie because of greed!
