Pink Labels versus Black Labels

Can anyone tell me the difference between Pink Label dolls and Black Label dolls?  I have been told that the Black Label dolls are limited in production......is that true?

Pink label dolls are "intro to collecting" dolls and black label dolls are for adult collectors.  Both dolls are pretty much open editions and we usually dont get production numbers for these dolls.

on the same topic...could you give us a current example of a Pink Label and a Black Label doll?  also, are they always different in size and body type from one another?

They are not different in size, both labels would be 11-1/4" Barbie dolls (male dolls are a little taller).  Some black labels are the Barbie Basics and Cher dolls.  Some pink Labels are Capt, Jack Sparrow and Couture Angel.

The Barbie Basics and Farrah Fawcett are Black Label. Go to Shop and type Pink Label in the search box, then click Enter on your keyboard or click the Search button and it should load all the Pink Label dolls. Same goes for the Black Label dolls. You have to click on each doll, because Pink Citrus Obsession is brought from the search, but she is a Platinum Label.

Barbie dolls are typically 11.1/2 inches or 11.5 inches in height. Listed above is an another example of black label and pink label (Carol Ferris is Black Label, Renaissance Faire Blonde is Pink Label). Hopes this helps to clarify the difference between an introductory line such as pink label and an adult themed label to include celebrities such as Cher in the black label.
