CWK123 Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 I have been keeping an eye out for a good deal for this doll and finally got her. Just wondering if she was a limited edition? What makes her any more sought after or rare than the other DC dolls such as Supergirl or Batgirl? Thanks! ~You only live once...if you want Barbies, buy Barbies!~
Guest TOYBOX1572402193 Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Supply and Demand. Over the years, some dolls become harder to find or more sought after. Although, the DC Wonder Woman Barbie doll's value changes on a daily basis -- she is beautiful. Her market value has shifted from (+/-) over the years. Perhaps, you're noticing a trend in her recent market value. But I would not state that she's hard to find or rare. Define limited edition? Years ago, the titling "Collector Edition" and "Limited Edition" were given to dolls, but we were not privy to production numbers so it was hard to state how "limited" these items truly were. As for the DC trio, they were not "limited edition" in that they were produced in small numbers -- although I do not have the actual #'s -- they may be comparable to Pink or Gold Label. I recall TRU redlining these dolls because they had so many in stock, a year or two after the release date.
KATHIEC Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 The 2008 WW was Pink Label, so there had to have been thousands of them.
TONEO_1 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 It's because she is the most sought after super heroine of all time. She is way more popular than any other female character. ~ TonY ~ "Treasure time well spent with loved ones for one day they will be gone."
TEDDYSLIVINGBARBIE Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I'm finding that Supergirl is harder to find than WW, probably because she is Silver label... Best Regards, Julie ANC, URBFC, UBGFC Member, and Charter Shazette. Hold tightly to what is eternal, and loosely to what is temporal.
KELLYANNE Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 wonder woman was the one I wanted most and I missed her.
Guest Zee30 Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Try ebay, I found supergirl, black canary and three different wonder woman dolls there.
