Guest pinkmajesty Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Hello! Any chance that the Eden Starling holiday doll could be added to the Showcase?
TEDDYSLIVINGBARBIE Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Who is Eden Starling? Best Regards, Julie ANC, URBFC, UBGFC Member, and Charter Shazette. Hold tightly to what is eternal, and loosely to what is temporal.
Guest FASHIONDOLLCOLLECTOR1572384204 Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Isn´t she playline?? Markus
Guest pinkmajesty Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Technically yes she's playline, and maybe this request was a longshot, but I thought it would be nice since she commemorates more than a playline doll ordinarily does. She is the second holiday doll out this year, her availability was limited, it is the 20th anniversary for the Holiday line and the first year for an original Barbie Christmas movie. She's no gold label but she's a gorgeous Holiday doll and I don't see how the situation differs much from i.e the Fairytopia Live Elina doll.
Guest TOYBOX1572402193 Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Wasn't the Elina doll Gold Label though?
Guest skborges Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Yes, the FAO exclusive Elina is Gold Label.
Guest pinkmajesty Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Yes, Elina is gold label. What I said was that the situation regarding the release of the two dolls is not entirely dissimilar: label aside, they are both special releases to commemorate an important cinematic or theatric event in Barbie's history. There are "collector edition" dolls i.e. Avon in the Showcase and these were probably released in similar quantity so why should the numbers make any difference when it comes to the rarity or sentimental value of a doll? I guess shame on me for not realizing this was a totally ludicrous proposition and I apologize for sharing the suggestion.
BARBIEDISNEYFAN Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Are you talking about Eden Starling in the silver dress or the red one?
Guest pinkmajesty Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 The red dress, barbiedisneyfan. (The silver/white is the 2008 Holiday Barbie but both are featured in the movie.)
Guest TOYBOX1572402193 Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Fabulous suggestion! There are many collectors who clamor and jump around for Playline. And if not showcased here, perhaps in a special news release to commemorate the occasion? *shrugs*
