Superstar Barbie Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 I started seeing the new dolls Barbie as the island princess "She looks like an cheaper version of a doll dressed as barbie"so does her friend with the cat Ken looks like a Man next to a young girl I feel like he's a child molester now next to this new Barbie. And I noticed the 2 new styling head giftset this hair is aweful its not even good quality to use for styling when you wet it it gets knotty and eeewwwwwwww,What is going on Barbie is suppose to be every girls dream and a pretty face, now short, chubby cheeks, this is just not BARBIE as the teenage fashion model this years dolls just dont hold a candle to the past dolls.Im sorry to say that but its true Barbie needs a mature face and body more like a woman.
Guest blackiegracie Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Yes, it's just soooo depressing what's happened to the playline this year! I can't even stand to go into the Barbie aisle in stores anymore -- I know I'll be disappointed. In previous years I'd buy hundreds (yes hundreds!) of dollars in the playline Barbie dolls and fashions. They had so many cute styles and pretty faces! I bought at least one each of the Fashion Fever dolls. Well now... it just makes me sad what they did to Barbie! This year I'll be buying the collector edition Barbies only (perhaps that's what Mattel intended?) I don't have children, but I can guess little girls probably feel the same disappointment with their "play" Barbies too. *Sighs* Zoila
Superstar Barbie Posted June 12, 2007 Author Posted June 12, 2007 I agreee that Barbie needed a make-over and her friends but this isnt what I ment.

MARVLOUS Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 not only are the dolls in Island Princess not pretty but they have to follow the very popular 12 Dancing Princesses dolls. I wanted to get the Island princess that came with the cat, I think that one is Lucinda, but she was just not pretty , and frankly neither was her cat. Superstar Barbie Posted June 24, 2007 Author Posted June 24, 2007 I saw her at Target todaay and she was ugly, and she had the bad textured hair, when I heard Barbie was getting a make-over for 2007 I was excited until I saw the finished product. I really cant believe the decisions that took place with Barbie,I really ecpected better what makes ir sadder is I dont think Mattel toys will change the new Barbie's face or body.

Superstar Barbie Posted July 19, 2007 Author Posted July 19, 2007 I saw a LOT of NEW releases at TRU today I want some NEW Barbie dolls so bad,I saw NEW ff giftset Barbie & Teresa sets with clothes the radio control car with Barbie doll,All these new idaes are great but the Barbie is just NOT Barbie doll she looks tooooo young to drive and she is not glamorous,The Glam is gone to the BRAT* dolls I expect so much more from you all it;s obvious that your maketers and designers do not collect or play Barbie like we do.And does someone from Mattel really read our Barbie concerns and comments?
MARVLOUS Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 i love the top model dolls but what are folks who can;t or won't pay that much money for a doll supposed to do? Marvlous ANC Charter member "Yes I still Play with Dolls "
