Guest AURAWHY Posted September 20, 2003 Posted September 20, 2003 Welcome Aboard, Kanuck420! It's true that the Holiday Celebration series has been discontinued; Mattel has made a move in recent years to have more series of shorter duration in order to meet collector complaints of series' lasting indefinitely, & newer collectors being unable to find older dolls. There is a new holiday series starting this year & the first doll in the Holiday Visions series is called Winter Fantasy, available through Barbie Collectibles & in stores now.
Guest kanuck420 Posted September 20, 2003 Posted September 20, 2003 I understand that the Holiday Celebration Series has been discontinued as the other Happy Holiday Series- I began collecting this particular barbie last year for my daughter & was wondering how many are in the series? The Holdiay Celebration that is...I had thought it only began in 2000?? Any help would be appreciated!! THANKS Jen
Guest BCLouE1572382628 Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 You're right, kanuck420. The Celebration Series began in 2000 and was followed with dolls in '01 & '02. You can find them all here. (And, as always, thanks Aurawhy!)
Guest jtharder Posted September 28, 2003 Posted September 28, 2003 I am sure disappointed that the holiday series is discontinued. I started collecting for my daughter two years ago when she was born. Last year I had to buy off ebay for 75.00. Thought I was going to get ahead start this year. Guess not. This message board is very helpful. Jadyn's mom
Guest BC ValerieC Posted September 29, 2003 Posted September 29, 2003 Hi jtharder, while the Happy Holidays Series and the Celebration Series have both ended, that doesn't mean that there will be no holiday dolls this year. That would be like cancelling Christmas! This year the new holiday series is the Holiday Visions Series, with the enchanting Winter Fantasy doll as the first in the series. She is truly lovely and her packaging is very special and beautiful in and of itself. There is also a Limited Edition doll for the holidays this year - the exquisite Joyeux Barbie in the Barbie Fashion Model Collection line. So no need to cry about there being no holiday dolls!
