PAMKJJ Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 I am a new collector-still trying to figure this all out. My question is about the Toy Fair dolls. Will these dolls be available to buy for everyone? Will they be sold on this site? Any info appreciated. Thanks, Pam
Guest bjacollect Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Hi Pam Toy Fair is NOT open to the public. One must be in the business in order to get the passes needed to enter. Guest jenniferz Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Yep, they'll be for everyone. :) Toy Fair is a yearly showcase where all the toy companies (Mattel, Playskool, etc) show off their new line to retailers (K-Mart, Target, etc) and go, "isn't this cool? don't you want to buy this for your store and sell it for us?". The general public is typically not allowed. But since a lot of toys are collectibles now, the collecting folks have made it a point to see all of the 2011 toys at Toy Fair and talk about them. Most poeople won't be aware of these toys until they show up during the summer months as well as Christmas on toy shelves. ALL of these dolls/toys will be coming this year and sold through various retailers. That's the point of Toy Fair. :)
Guest pattidolls Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Yes, they will be available to buy. If not here, then in the stores.
SANDIHOLDER Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Just for clarity, there is a chance that some of these dolls might be available only on bc.com (their exclusive) and will not be shared exclusives with your favorite doll dealer. For that reason, we were happy to post the pictures, but until we have confirmation from Mattel what dealers will and will not have, we can't confirm availability. As BZ mentioned, the Artist series for example might be an exclusive to the Metropolitan Museum of Art (sad face) so let's wait until more info is released and just enjoy the beautiful dolls for now :) Sandi Holder - dollattic.com - Come be our friend on Facebook!
