Guest JuliDC Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Hi fellow Silkie fans! Although I have a fair number of Silkstone Barbies, I wasn't a Club member prior to this year. I hadn't purchased any Silkies in several years, so I wasn't aware there had been a change in their size until I read it here in reference to last year's Palm Beach dolls. I don't have any of the PB collection to compare to either my earlier Silkies, or this year's Russian line. Can anyone tell me if only the Palm Beach Silkstones are a different size, or if this is now the standard for all Silkstones going forward? I searched the board for the answers and couldn't find what I was looking for, so please forgive me if this has been asked and answered before. Juli DC
SHEREEM Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 The Palm Beach gals are a little 'beefier' than previous silkstones. After that line, all silkstones have been made with the same body size as previous silkstones, so it's just the PB ones that are a slightly larger size.
Guest JuliDC Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Thanks for answering so fast Sheree! :) So just to further clarify, last year's Mad Men dolls, and Debut in honor of Barbie's 50th, are the original Silkstone size, not the "beefier" Palm Beach proportions? I'm mainly asking because I enjoy redressing my Silkstones, and have recently received both the Skiing and Riding ensembles for Joan Holloway and Betty Draper to model respectively. ;) Juli DC :)
SHEREEM Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Juli, you're welcome and you are correct. MadMen and Debut, along with all the silkies other than the PB gals, are all the same original size for redressing purposes. And please post photos of your redresses! We'd love to see them!
