Guest scientistsoltero1572371242 Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 How an amazing doll can be done
Guest kevlan23 Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 She is worth every penny she is going for now though. I love her!!!
Guest JLJ0984 Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Someone is trying to sell 20 of them on Ebay for $1,000 each, there is no way she's worth that sadly. Makes me sick someone is trying to take advantage of people like that.
Guest tidegirl1572390878 Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 You'd have to be a sucker to want one from Ebay for that much!
Guest marina305 Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 If you wait for actual auctions, you might score one for $250.
Guest TOYBOX1572402193 Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Often, what a doll originally retails for (otherwise known as MSRP/Manufacture Suggested Retail Price) is not what a doll's market value or going rate is once the doll is sold out. Medusa was a Direct Exclusive from Barbie Collector and was made in lower production quota numbers. Once she sold out, depending upon supply & demand, her going rate exceeded the MSRP. One can verify this by reviewing past sales on the secondary market or through ended auctions on eBay. It is up to each individual to decide what a collectible is worth. One would be remiss to not do research prior to making a purchase or listing items for sale but not every buyer/seller educates themselves. This is part of the problem with the secondary market. While I believe Medusa to be a collector's dream doll, she is worth much more than MSRP, I would never part with mine. I was lucky to have purchased her from BC directly when she was available. I hope that those looking for her are able to adopt her in the near future.
