Guest MOPOSH1572391012 Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 I recently received Grease® Kelly® Doll and Tommy™ Doll Giftset and I love it. But I was just wondering why my Tommy's hair is forward and down instead of combed back as it is in the promo photos and showcase. Just a minor thing, but I was curious as to the difference. Thanks.

TEDDYSLIVINGBARBIE Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I'm not a Mod, but I'll take a stab at answering this. You have noticed the little caption next to featured dolls that reads "Mattel reserves the right to modify the appearance of the dolls from what is shown", or words to that effect? Mattel modified your dolls from the promo pics. Another thing that can cause differences in dolls is that Mattel manufactures its products in several different factories. Always has, and always will. If all the dolls were manufactured in the same place, there would be less chance of variation, because the same group of people would be working on each and every doll. For example, my three titian Living Barbies all look slightly different, even though they are all basically the same doll --they obviously were not manufactured by the same group of people. Hope this helps some. Best Regards, Julie ANC, URBFC, UBGFC Member, and Charter Shazette. Hold tightly to what is eternal, and loosely to what is temporal.
