Walmart Platinum Japan Barbie

Can we get an idea of when the Japan Platinum Label Barbie doll will go on sale? I understand that this doll is a Walmart exclusive. Also, I would like to know why is there a Japan exlusive and then a Platinum

Walmart exclusive at that?

I'd also like to know WHEN. I'm getting tired of checking their website every day. I can't remember it all the time and will prob. miss it when they do put it up cause I won't be near a computer them.

The only info we currently have is that it's due in March and will retail for about $70. As we get more info, we'll be sure to post it.

it maybe due in March, but once they put her on the website, I'll bet she will be sold out for pre-sale within an hour.

That's why I keep checking there. I seriously doubt they will put a Platinum out in their stores.

I bet they will pair it with something to make an expensive bundle like they did with Ethel. Considering how I feel about WAl-mart right now, I hope the bundled item is a very large bottle of sake.

*Sigh* These are all _really_ good questions and points! I've not dealt with Walmart, but I sure have been reading enough to know that there have been many troubles. I sincerely hope that everyone who wants her, GETS her.

WalMart is not the ideal choice for a Platinum, but it seems no large chain is. It's a shame Mattel didn't pair with dealers such as MFD and Vogue instead. I'm still displeased that there even is a Platinum of a DotW, with no Pink Label variant. I don't see paying that much for a doll in this series.

 

For anyone who is seeking this doll, I hope fervently that you get her with as little fuss as possible. I also hope WalMart doesn't pull the Ethel stunt again.

Latest update we have is that the doll will launch in March 2008, most likely in-store and online. We should have more info in February and will post as we get further udpates.

Thanks lou, please keep keep on top of it. There's a lot of us who want this doll. We really appreciate any info you can give us that will make it trouble-free when ordering this doll. Walmart is not known for it's wonderful customer service, so we hope mattel can pick up the slack and give us the excellent customer service we will need on this.
