2024 Collector Edition Porsche 356 Outlaw From Kroger

By Mattel Creations Staff

One of the most thrilling times for us each year is the development and unveiling of our latest Collector Editions. For 2024, the excitement is at an all-time high, as we continue the series in partnership with the Kroger family of stores. Your new opportunity to build your collection opens with the purchase of $20 of select Hot Wheels. (See details below.)

Our mail-in promo casting will arrive in regal style, as only a Porsche can. This 356 Outlaw is nothing short of spectacular. Beaming in Spectraflame red, the only thing as eye-catching as its paint job are its Real Riders classic 4-spoke chrome wheels. We added racing stripes and a rich golden Hot Wheels logo to put our latest Outlaw in a class by itself. Make it a new star in your collection and grab the cars you need from participating Kroger stores to get this mail-in exclusive.

Porsche 356 Outlaw Specs:

  • Body Color: Spectraflame red
  • Graphics: Authentic manufacturer logos, Hot Wheels logo, #2
  • Body Type: ZAMAC
  • Wheels: Real Riders classic 4-spoke wheels
  • Base: Full-metal, zinc-plated chassis
  • Window Color: Clear
  • Interior Color: Black
  • Scale 1:64

Could contain: Machine, Spoke, Alloy Wheel, Car, Car Wheel, Tire, Transportation, Vehicle, Wheel, Coupe

Need another reason to take a ride to a participating Kroger Family store? We also created four exclusive recolors you can only get at their locations, and they’ll count toward the $20 for the promo, too.

Our Kroger affiliate put the bin and pamphlets out around early April. If we bought then, will they still be honored or do I need to rebuy?

If it was on April 28th or later you are fine, if before that you need to return and repurchase so it is within the date timeframe of April 28th to May 25th....

Greetings! My son, in his overwhelming excitement to participate in this promo, purchased the Hot Wheels Premium Porsche 959 and Euro Hauler multipack. Unfortunately after we got home from Kroger we noticed that the Asst. number is FLF56. The fine print of this 356 promo states that "HMW97 and HWW95 or multipack numbers" all qualify. What is meant by "multipack numbers"? Does his multipack purchase qualify towards this promo? Thank you.

I purchased two haulers (Brumos Porsche and Mercedes) out of the Kroger promotional shipper in the sales floor. Shipper was promoting this mail in offer. I thought these would go towards the promo. Do they in count towards the 20$ min for the Porsche mail in offer?

thanks

What if I accidentally used my Ralph’s rewards card? Price before tax was 1.50 a piece so got 16. Pre-tax it’s about 24 but after discount and tax went up to about 20.77. Should I still buy more ??

Is there any possible way to get it without going to a Kroger store and not buying from a reseller?

The video is wrong.  Circled is the after tax price... This is incorrect.   The amount total is for the acceptable items before tax.  Also shown in the video is the guy leaving the store with cars/items in hand, but a 10 cent bag fee was tacked on.

Although the bag fee wouldn't have mattered in this example per the video, the video doesn't match what actually is being shown or what is required.

See picture attached with the right cost.  The blue box shows purchases which are acceptable, green box shows total to be considered, minus the dime of course.   The applicable tax is not part of the cost of the product.

Also what is confusing for a lot of new collectors is an online purchase that this video does not address at all.

Example: Buying a case or cases online and what IS the acceptable receipt of that purchase.  This was especially difficult to understand when what was required was a quantity of vehicles vs a set dollar amount.    Not sure now if cases are being sold anymore from the retailers of a particular promotion, but early on I got burned because the instructions were so poorly written.

See picture attached with what should be the bottom line in green minus the dime of course.   For those new to this, the applicable tax is not part of the cost of the product.   Obviously still many questions and I didn't even catch the discounted line items until after posting my first comment concerning this video.

If you read the page prior to this one, you'll see that I am in the same boat as we purchased the same Porsche multipack. The assortment number for these doesn't directly match the assortment numbers listed in the promo's fine print, but the fine print also states that "multipack numbers" qualify. I separately sent a message to Mattel customer service but have yet to hear back anything. I don't have my hopes up though.

I see Harris Teeter is not on the list. It was purchased by Kroger. Does that in turn make it part of the family for this promotion to count?

So we're looking for specific cars? You cannot just pick up random frames? And does the Volvo XC40 Recharge have to be red, found a green one.

I do not want to remove the cars from blister cards. Would taking a picture and printing it out be acceptable since I assume the barcodes are going to be scanned?

Another promotion us European based folks cannot benefit from 😞

Can we have a Mattel Creations website for Europe please. We pay for the membership and more to have the rlc cars shipped, but can't take part in any of the promotions 🙏

Any color would work so long as the car has the correct assortment number on the back of the card. Refer to #1 at the top of the page:

"During the Promotion Purchase Period from April 28, 2024 - May 25, 2024 buy $20.00 (before taxes) of Hot Wheels® 1:64 basic cars and/or multipacks from 2020 to present assortment numbers 5785, C4982, L2593, HMW97 and HWW95 or multipack numbers, 1806, HPV78 and/or H7045 (“Qualifying Products”) from participating Kroger Family of Stores and its banners*."

Hi, so I think there is some confusion in folks understanding the rules of purchase vs the rules of the mail in redemption.  Section 3 (three) of the rules references the Qualifying Products clause of section 1 (one).  What they are saying is; only blister cards that are classified as the "Qualifying Products" are what can be used for the mail in redemption.

As for what counts towards the $20 is any Hot Wheels 1:64th product.  This excludes launchers, tracks, carrying cases, city sets, etc.  Your Team Transport purchases can be used towards your required $20 proof of purchase, but NOT towards the mail in redemption.  You still have to send in 20 Qualified blister cards. (cardboard backs or multipack boxes).

The Kroger (and partners) displays are now arranged in such a way that you understand you can buy something other than the mainline vehicles, but also so you are encouraged to purchase the high end products over the mainline vehicles.

I hope this helps.

Hi, I replied to the person you originally responded to.  In case you don't see my response to them, I am replying to yours as well.

The Team Transport series are NOT considered multipacks.  I think there is some confusion in folks understanding the rules of purchase vs the rules of the mail in redemption.  Section 3 (three) of the rules references the Qualifying Products clause of section 1 (one).  What they are saying is; only blister cards that are classified as the "Qualifying Products" are what can be used for the mail in redemption.

(cardboard backs or multipack boxes).

Hi, this is a very good question. Two premises need to be established.

  1. First, the date of the car model is not relevant towards what makes a "valid" car from '2020 to present'.
  2. Second, what the official rules refer to as "Qualifying Products" is what you are referring to as "valid".

So now what are the "Qualifying Products"?  - assortment numbers 5785, C4982, L2593, HMW97 and HWW95 or multipack numbers, 1806, HPV78 and/or H7045.  When you flip over the blister pack, typically near the barcode is the Asst. number. (or assortment number).  These numbers mean specific things to Matel. They identify the overall production, packaging, and distribution of the items in question.  All of the cars that are under these assortment numbers have specific release years. Most HW enthusiasts can look at a car in a case and tell you when it was released.  But for non enthusiasts just look at the copywrite date typically along the left side of the back of the card.

Its possible that some stores still rack or stock vehicles from older release periods.  This is due to wearhouse, inventory, or shipping difficulties within the chain. For example, just this January I purchased 10 brand new cars from 2006. These blister cards would never be valid for any relevant mail in promotion. But if I had bought them during the promotional period, the $$ I paid for them could be used as my proof of purchase on my receipt.

I know pcarpassionist answered your question with the correct answer.  However I wanted to point out that the cars you see in the additional photos refer to the Kroger exclusive cars.  These are specifically cars you can only get at Kroger or affiliate stores, in a very specific release. These are rarer than some of the other cars that can be found in all stores.  For some of us, these exclusive cars are part of the fun of hunting for the rarer vehicles. They however make no difference in the mail in promo.
